Swine Flu Attack!

For Biology, we've been learning about bacteria, viruses blah blah blah. Our lecturer told us about the recent Swine influenza outbreak and told us to read up on it. Oh my goodness, it's SCARY!


Thankfully, there are no suspected cases in Singapore but we're already taking the precautions! MOST PROBABLY we've all got to wear the N95 masks for attachment, or maybe no attachment. People who ever step into the hospitals need to take their tempreture. Thankfully I have recovered from my common flu and sore throat already!


I thought swine flu is like no big deal, not many will be affected. But I was shocked when I read up on it... The previous Swine(or Spanish) flu outbreak in 1918 infected 1 billion people worldwide and killed 30 million people! Oh. My. Goodness. That was in the past. Right now, we don't know how advanced the virus has mutated into. Though I know that many lives are going to be lost, I still hope for the very best.


YOU CAN PLAY YOU PART! :D VERY IMPORTANTLY, WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN! The precautions are similiar to SARS so you should know what lah... Let's reduce the risk of infection as a community! If you're sick, please see a doctor and don't go shopping. And the list just goes on.


Swine flu aside, I just wanna show you the people (not all though) I've been working closely with over the past 1 month! I'm like seeing them in school everyday. Urgh. Wahahaha. There's Bernice, Shikin and Fadzly!!

Tired!

Ah! Just came back from school! I have been going back home so late huh. It shows that I'm really busy with SoundCard and SoundCard! Haha! Yup, we held auditions and will be doing it later! Urgh, that means another day to stay back late again!

Hee, I simply can't get over the Club Crawl performances! Just watched the videos of my 2nd day of performance and I thought that I didnt really do a good job compared to the first day. Argh, there goes my reputation! Hahaa, just kidding. But seriously, if I had the chance to put up a better show, I will! Oh well, good things must come bit by bit or else it'll be too boring already! Wahahaha.

Few of the freshies recognised me from the one who sang a song from "The Sound Of Music". Now, when did this movie become so popular ah? Wahahaha. But it has a special meaning to be cos my parents to me that my name was originated from that movie and I had personally visited Salzburg before!

I'm really starting to be in my own world already. Thinking too much. Hope I can make it through the auditions. Triple please. No, I mean infinate please!

Not to mention the lectures, tutorials and lab sessions I have to go through in the day. Hahaha. But nevermind, it's all worth it! I'm gonna be a good student, improve my grades and then be able to perform in my school's muscial. (Ok, wrong motive already!)

Oh, I finally got to serve in my church choir! The experience was wow! Really enjoyed myself! Not forgetting putting on that smile as much as I could. Wahahahaa. Yup, can't wait to serve next Sunday again, followed by Cats the Muscial. HOORAYYY!!!!!!!!

FINALLY, THIS SUNDAY HAS COME!!!!!!! CATS CATS HERE I COME! After 12 years of waiting, I finally got to watch it! I was underaged while I was in WestEnd then. I hope the cast is good!

Strange huh, since when everything fell into my "style"??? :)

The life of a performer/Club Crawl 2009

What a day!!!!!!! Though I'm tired and all, I throughly enjoyed myself! :D

I had to wake up in the middle of the night and visit the toilet 5 times. Urgh, it was the worst stomach pain ever! It turned out that I had diarrhoea! I was pinching my stomach so hard due to the intense pain. Eventually after 1 hour of going in and out, all felt better :D

It was until I found myself awake at 7.15am when I had 8am lab session! ARGH!!!!!! I took 10 minutes to dress up. Fair enough, I was only 10 minutes late. Thankfully the lecturer was nice enough to still mark me as present! It really wasnt on purpose! I think after the diarrhoea, I was really weak and tired.

After lab, I went straight to block E to prepare myself for the big event!!!! Had to set up booth, put make up, change clothes etc etc. I didnt eat anything since tea time the day before so I went to North Canteen and shuffed a big pao into my mouth accompanied with Vitasoy. My, that was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! But no choice, I had to fill my stomach with that little amount of time.

The sports hall was opened and the freshies started coming in. Had to talk quickly and sensibly! I talked till my throat was so dry, so I just koped any bottle from the SoundCard booth and drank it. LOL. I was worried sick that my voice may be disrupted by my dry throat.

Time was up and it was performance time! Despite performing so many times, I still had butterflies in my tummy!! It soon became my turn and I did everything with confidence :D Just a lil weak in my last few notes cos I was panting with dancing around. Haha. But yay! Many mentioned that it was GOOD! I hope tomorrow will be better! (though it's gonna be different songs)

Weird huh, even having an excuse letter for the whole of today(Tuesday), I still try my best not to skip anything! Haha. I'm such a nerd!

I can't believe that I was one of the kiasu student, that bothered to wait till 12 midnight for the elective module registration. Anyhow, I got Health Informatics, along with my classmates. Haha!

Off I go, before you see me nodding my head consistently in lectures. Heehee.

After knowing abit of MH, I really wanna play a part, though I'm scared.

My Weekend!

The gathering was a blast! Didn't see so many of the people for a long time. Though I was rushing from place to place, it was all worth it :)After the gathering, the usual few walked to KAP. We chilled till 6am?! Hahaha. Yeah, it was fun! I didnt do it for a long, long time! I met SOMEONE there too! She stayed till 3am. So happening eh. Hahaha. I enjoyed the last phase of our "tonning" where we played "Shit King". No worries, no fecal material involved. Zzzzz. It was playing around with poker cards. Carlos turned out to be the Shit King and I had the lowest shit level. Ok, what a name for this game -__-

I reached home about 6.30am in the morning and slept about 7am. I was sleeping when the sun rose. Haha. Woke up at 2pm and was in time for service! :D

Today, was spent doing the lil gifts for club crawl!!!!!!!! My poor hands! I can't wait for Wed and Thur! And argh! I hope my voice will perfectly heal. It's either my voice is in the midst of healing or I lost my "singing voice" cos I didn't do proper choral warm ups for a long time. I hope it's the first one.

Help me oh help me.

S for Silver!

Congrats to BBSS Choir for the Silver!! I know it's quite an achievement to some people. Well, as long as you guys did your best(which you did), I'm sure there are no regrets! Hoho, I was biting my nails when they were up performing. But they sure sounded good! :) Hmm, a Gold for the next one can? Let's break the record!!!!!

Yeah, looking at them perform made me realise that I lost all my choral voice! Ok, gotta gain it back! If I want to perform in musicals, I better train hard! Wahahahaa!

Very much busy with SoundCard until the few of us went crazy at night. EVERYONE CAN DANCE! :D It'll be over soon! One more week! Oh, that means I have one more week to improve on my performances.

I hope all goes well. I can't wait to take photos with the different costumes with pretty make up and all. At least, I hope there will be time to take. Haha.

Being busy is GOOD!

Kristen Chenoweth

If you were to ask me who do I love listening to, it would be Kristen Chenoweth. I first got to know about her somewhat irritating voice when I bought the "Wicked!" Soundtrack CD. Anyhow, SHE ROCKS and I love her!

Other than her talent of singing as a light lyric soprano(who has a voice range of middle C to "high D"), she can really make her audience laugh. There are many many other things I would wanna learn from her also. Hoping that I can put them all to practice(there's another meaning to this!)!

I think that some people need to check on their heart before checking on their own appearance. Because if their heart is ugly, everything about them is.

Enjoying Life! (kinda)

Just came back from school and I will be going back to school tomorrow and Thursday! Can you imagine, holidays spent a whole day in school?! But I like :) It's all for the preperation for SoundCard Club Crawl. Hmmm, it might be quite a headache when doing those logistic stuff, planning and practising for performance. We're short of manpower, that's why! Nevertheless, the current committee is able to do it all at the same time, even though we're not exactly good. Heh.

Though I really love to sing for musicals, I guess I'm not really a natural when it comes to performing it. So I'm burshing my skills with the help of Shikin and Bernice(they're really good dancers and actresses)! So let's see how I will do next Wednesday and Thursday!

My timetable is out! It's like a little reminder for me to stop playing and start concentrating on my studies! I will really try my best to handle both(and the many more responsibilities i have)! At least, attachment in week 5 is a way for me to "relax" and take a break from notes and textbooks(boring words). It is also a time for me to get used to working life and to practice not to withdraw myself from the outside world. Hahaha. I'm ready for anything!!! Bring it on! :)

I was looking through my past entries and realised that I had completely achieved what I ultimately dreamt of. Particularly, being able to perform(by singing) solo. Not only I had one, but two times my dream was fulfilled! Have to thank God for all the wonderful chances that was given to me. I'm waiting for the current one to happen! I feel it coming soon! :D

So yeah, I should not be dismayed when I encounter certain instances that can make me think why is the world so unfair. Everything is in God's hands! :) I'm waiting for something greater! Yeahh!

Wow whee!

Remember that I was complaining on facebook and MSN that I would not have dinner cos Mommy was away and I was sick? This was the dinner I prepared :) Not bad for an 18-year-old huh. Hee :)Maundy Thursday was spent in school practising for Club Crawl! It's going to be hectic for me because I am singing for 3 songs, dancing for 2 song (i wanna back out for one song cos i dont have time to change!) and playing the guitar for 1 song. So in total, 6 songs! @_@ I love performing but 6 songs are a bit too much for me. Nevermind, just pretend that I'm practising for my world tour concert. WAHAHAHA. Ok, just kidding.

In the night we had this SNA event at the Night Safari! Like FINALLY!!!!! I'm glad that it was a good event and it has ended! No more meetings and blah blah blah. But the ITE side were nice :) Not quite true about my senior saying that NYP and ITE cannot click. Of course I have to thank these guys for coming down to support! Really thank you! If not NYP will be such a disgrace. Happy to hear that you all also enjoyed :)

PAIN!

Of all days, why do I have to fall sick exactly last night? :( Praying for healing to be upon me. Let's hope I can get well by tomorrow! My throat hurts, my nose is super blocked, headaches and it is spinning me around like crazy. I even lied down on the floor of my living room because I was too tired to walk. Haha. But I have no idea why I would have the strength and energy when it comes to blogging.

After attachment, I still have so many events waiting in line for me! Monday I had SNA briefing for the Night Safari Trip. Yay, managed to see my class people! Miss them loads. Wow, in 2 weeks' time we're going to be in Year 2! :D We went to XinYe's house for a majiong session. They taught me a little and I managed to catch it. After a few games of observing, I was on my own! We didn't play with real money of course.We also celebrated LingLi's belated birthday. Still looking as young as ever! :DTuesday was SoundCard committee meeting. I was trying to catch up on everything I had missed the past 3 weeks due to my attachment. Oh, and by going to school yesterday, I got myself a chance to perform 3 songs for club crawl. Well, not just normal songs but songs from musicals!!! :D We get to wear really nice costumes by the school(that's if i can fit into them). Hmm, hope my efforts won't be wasted. I got to get into the musical man! I will train myself hard for the auditions. Syu, Bernice and Maria :)Not only that, I am going to study real hard this coming semester. Now I understand how being online can waste one's time. Heehee. Should be cutting down on my computer time when school starts.

I was over the phone with my lower secondary form teacher. Oh dear, he asked me if I'm still doing naughty things and all that. I'm totally ashamed of my behavoiur when I was younger. Thank God, for now I'm not like that. Can't wait to see him on the 17th!!!!

Whoa, it would be sooo cool if I could pop over Australia and we could do some travelling together! Though it may not be Europe, but at least Australians were originated from Europe. Hahaha.

Maybe you could stay there and do your Masters, then I can join you and do my Nursing degree!

But you gotta chat with me online okay! Don't always put yourself on a busy status, claiming that you're busy. Wahaha. We so have to exchange emails as often as possible.

Oh, but I have to find another partner who will be willing to watch musicals with me. If I can't, nevermind also! I can watch them myself :D

Events coming my way!

Attachement's over! But I'm going to miss Ward 43. It was a really nice place. Maria, think KKH, not NUH!

I can't wait for school to start. I am so going to improve my grades. If my year 2 seniors can do it, so can I! :D

After the 9th of April, I will be oh-so-happy... Then, it'll be Easter and Club Crawl :)

I foresee, April and May are going to be great!!! :D

Cause of lack of sleep: Surfing the net

I was looking hard in my computer so that I could post a nice photo, but I didn't managed to find any. Heh, so this is gonna be a post with words only.

By the way, Happy April Fool's Day to all! What's this day without laughter? The peeps from Ward 43 really made my day, especially after work, when we went out together because we'll be working afternoon shift tomorrow! Woot! After work, we got changed and went to CCK's Pasta Mania. I had a good, good laugh there! While eating, we were talking about the (some weird and some nice) doctors and all, sharing on the interesting (more of funny) things that happened in the ward. Ah, that's really the best part of being a nurse - understanding each other's situation.

I really learnt a lost from the year 2 seniors. Let's hope I can pick up as many things from them with the 2 remaining days!

Come to think of it, NUH Ward 43 is really a pleasent place to work in. Other than anything else, the staffs there are really friendly. That means the whole world in one's working life. Well, I simply can't wait to step into the real working life(hope i won't regret what i say).

And I got the phone call again! :) Let's hope all paperwork can be done in May! I could do it like next week, but Dad flew away to China yesterday, so things had to be delayed. No hurry though :)

Condolences to Jing Wei and her family. Babe, hope you're ok yeah. Just think positively about everything. Someone will see your heart and make things change :) So just keep believing!

My body is down once again. Argh, it's just that irritating blocked nose! Blocking my left nostril entirely! I had to walk outside and blow my nose every once in awhile. What an ugly sight for the patient or the relatives to see. Nevermind, 2 more days! :D

Wow, through these 3 weeks of attachment, I could really see my strengths and weaknesses. For now, I am only fit to be a healthcare assistant(lowest rank in the ward). Need to buck up in my skills A LOT. Argh, I hope my grades for attachment won't deprove.

Cause of lack of sleep: Surfing the net... Wahahaha. I been surfing on YouTube recently, looking for nice musical songs! :D That's really a form of relaxation for me after a day's work. I'm so going to kick this bad habit so off I'll go!
