Christmas 2013

I was pretty occupied during Christmas this year. I won't say it's a good thing because it is my exam period! And I can still blog about it. OMG! MARIA WAKE UP YOUR IDEA! Ok, I seriously don't know why I am doing this... Sigh. Well, feeling kinda demoralised after the patho/pharmaco paper last week. Hope God can do a miracle. Heh heh. But anyways, I am studying :) But nothing is getting into my head :(

Ok, anyway that is MY problem... Went out with the KKH gals last Friday to celebrate the end of semester 1! :D I am really looking forward to semester 2 with all the field trips and attachments! Wheeeee!

Joined the 38club for Christmas party after rehearsal! I missed out good food but it's okay! Means I had one less meal means I can slim down! Wahahhaha :P

Had Christmas service in church on Saturday... Beautiful candlelight service. Here's a stage view :D

With the very awesome music team who never fails to create good music!

On Monday had a party at Christine's place!! Nice Christmas feel in this picture :) Slept over too! Yay! I love sleepovers but I seem to be getting too old for that :(

On Christmas eve, had a party at my place and all of them bunked in! Had so much fun with Andrew's fish eye lens!! :P

And oh, my voice pedal, which sadly isn't featured in any of the photos taken :(

I was super shagged already but had the final Christmas gathering at Val's place with the LifeGroup!

After the food and dinner, some of us gathered around the grand piano and started singing!!! My favourite part was to sing classical along with Val's mom! Oh man! I miss classical singing! It just takes one person to enjoy what I sing to feel good! Sadly I can't really find any accessible person around me who can appreciate classical singing as much as I can appreciate others singing :(

I am so going to start on my grade 5 theory after advanced dip! :DDD

Christmas is a time of gatherings, having fun, eating good food, etc etc... But I guess more to all these activities, Jesus is the reason for this season! Because of His existence in this world, we can experience mercy, grace and love :D Thank you Lord for all You've done!

Merry Christmas with <3 p="">
Maria

Looking Back: 2013

2013 has been cool... Experienced a fair bit of changes. And I'm always looking forward to a better year next year :) Anyway, here are some things worth remembering in 2013...

1) My grade 5 singing exam!!! I love the process and outcome! Really thank God for a great journey and topping off with a distinction :) Yes... Will continue one day :P Let me settle my own life and my theory first.

2) LifeUnited's moove to WedgeMount! Think we're all getting comfortable with our new home. God has always been faithful :)

3) BIG ACHIEVEMENT! Cycling 100km on a road bike with medical professionals! Wheeee! I hope I will really have the chance to cycle more in 2014! And to have a healthy lifestyle :D

4) Being part of Singhealth Nurses' Day as an emcee! Met different people from different departments and institutes. Really hope to be MORE involved in such events in the future :D

5) Getting 2nd for D&D (even though I really wanted to get 1st :P) It was leisure to me... Performing and earning the prize. Heeheehe..

6) Getting into my advanced diploma course... Learning things all over again, gaining new knowledge, having a new mindset in nursing etc etc. YAY! And oh, I signed my life away again...

7) My first appearance on TV :PPPPP (no elaboration required wahahahaha!)

So.... What to I look forward in 2014??? I will turn 24! Jeez!

1) Do well for school and get a GPA of 3.5... (I really need this)
2) Visit the dentist and put up braces :P
3) Get my bike license (I've been saying this for YEARS)
4) More opportunities in performing and being in productions
5) The Germany-London holiday with Vic!
6) More time to explore my voice pedal and do recording!!
7) To be a better nurse and worker when I return to work...

Alright! I'm gonna have a crazy christmas!(cos of exams in the midst of the festive season) Chiong ah!!!!

Oh no!

Tomorrow is my Health Assessment test and I have been enjoying myself instead. OOPS. I ought to be killed!!!

Watch Jing's choir concert on Friday! Love her gown! :)
I love the song choices (especially the 2nd half hehe). Ahhh. I really miss classical singing...

LiftUtd celebrated Christmas early! See how happy I'm feelin'!

Light refreshments were made. Oooooo so cute! Raindeer cookies!

After that we celebrated Kat's birthday! I love the theme!!!
Ok, can't wait to play more after my tests/exams...

So, the last practical test I had was way back in March this year when I had my singing exam!!! At that time, I felt that I wasn't really in a panic mode, and not preparing myself well. I feel the same now! ARGH!! Maybe the peace of God is with me :) But I'm rather scared cos something unexpected might happen, then how?!?!?!

Oh well. I won't know anything until after tomorrow! HA!

2 months.

So it has been 2 months into my advanced diploma course. I am really very thankful to have the privilege to go through this crazy course. No doubt the projects and assignments set me thinking about work. I simply can't wait to go back to be a better nurse! I really want to contribute to my ward and ease the workload and burden of others. Not to give them extra. Hahaha...

Just saying, I think one's attitude can be determined by his or her willingness to change. Like if we encounter something that requires us to change, just change lah! Suck it up, adapt to changes quickly and live on...

Also, if you are a part of a team, please bring everyone up and don't push people down. I honestly don't think it's the right attitude if you don't wanna turn up because majority of the other members can't make it that day. You know, as a whole, it just brings everyone's morale down. And I'm hearing it from someone who didn't turn up a fair bit. It's like I can say, "Speak for yourself.".

I do feel pressured. As a "leader", I want things to turn out good with a positive spirit. Yet I have to say such things that might make people unhappy with me. It's like I'm torn between both ends. I guess, as a leader, you need to have a certain degree of assertiveness. But with that, some people might dislike you. I can't please everyone anyway. And maybe, I can't expect everyone to be as committed as me.

Yes, I do aspire to go to the manager pathway. Is this a test for me?

On a not so brighter note, HELL(health) assessment is coming up and my research proposal will be due on Monday! But all's well! I am enjoying this learning process as much as I can :)

I feel the Christmas Spirit!

Shopping centers are starting to have their Christmas decoration now, and I'm feeling the Christmas spirit! :D Had an impromptu meet up with the BBSS peeps! It's good to just let my hair down once in awhile :)

The lovely girls!!

The seowlangs and 38 club girls unite!!!

So it's back to yet another week of school! Today is the last day I can enjoy myself (except for Kat's party & Juicez's D&D)... Need to chiong!!!! Going to have Health Assessment test, pathophysiology test and research proposal submission coming up!! Of course I am happy that I am balancing fun and work :P

I find it so funny... When we were younger, we tend to boast about how hardworking or how smart/clever we are. But at advanced diploma level, we(not sure if i am included) love to boast about how lousy and stupid we are. We feel especially good if we tell everyone that we didn't do any work. Wahahaha.

Anyways, it's WEEK 8 tomorrow! The semester is coming to an end! The year is coming to an end!!!
