This and that!

Pardon me for not blogging for a long time... Been too busy and tired with EVERYTHING! Like for this week, I will be going to KKH EVERYDAY. Oh how I love the hospital...

Anyway congrats to all who are graduating this year!!! Reminds me of my time 2 years back. During my time, I didn't really think of it as a big deal. I was just more focused on work. But now, I kinda regret. But no worries! I will have more graduating opportunities in the years to come ;) Yeap! I AM looking forward to my advanced diploma this October. I really hope I will get it! *prays*

LifeUnited celebrated her 2nd birthday last Saturday. A place where I call Home :)

 Fantastic music team!!

Invited my parents along as well~

After that, I went to Play to support JDC in a dance competition! Been doing that for the past 2 weeks actually... They got 2nd!!! :)

Love you all JDC!! :D

Last minute arranged steamboat dinner yesterday and it was successful!

Helped out at Positively Teal Carnival @ KKH. It was fun selling all the donated items. But I was wondering away and having my own fun most of the time :P I know my "god ma"(lady beside me in the photo) loves me for dedicating my off day for this event.

That's all for now. Events and activities piling up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!

The beginning of another journey...

I actually started out on my grade 8 lesson yesterday. My teacher and I just sat down and tried out some songs she shortlisted. It was quite fun, even though I was kinda stressed due to the fact that my sight-singing sucks big time.

Seriously, grade 8 isn't easy :/ Not only mastering the songs and going through the different tests. But in front of my teacher, I cannot behave like some dumb noob. I can just feel that her expectations of me have gone all the way up.

Had the chance to hear my teacher sing while she demo-ed one of the songs to me. Ahhhhh. She never fails to impress me. I just love everything about her singing. I really yearn to reach her standard.

Just looking at what I am doing now, I seriously wonder how I managed to take up grade 5 in 10 months. From ZERO knowledge and experience. But passed with distinction(though it was really really tyco). I believe that's a miracle God made for me :)

But for now, it's all gonna be based on hard work & discipline! Yes! I need loads of that!!! I realised that passion only can't bring you that far. It's really discipline, discipline & discipline!

I have a feeling that my teacher is gonna drill me hard this time round. Scoldings will happen. Tears are gonna come out. But it will all be worth it. I will be happy to just pass the exam. No merit or distinction expected.

So grade 8, here I come! I'm gonna conquer you!!

Taiwan Trip 2013

For those who have asked my how my holiday was, I'm sorry that I gave you a very lousy answer. I think I was just simply too lazy to answer the question. I enjoyed myself actually. Love love love the food and I'm happy that I managed to take a fair bit of photos on FOOD! Yumyumyum!!!

So this post is going to have no story line, but just the nicer photos with captions!

The very common thing we would do is to visit the night market and eat eat eat. Always loving the oyster mee sua!! This was in Shilin market.

The first city we visited was Taipei and we could not miss Taipei 101! Currently the 3rd tallest building in the world! The view from above is simply amazing! Just like a satellite view with google map.

Had lunch at the famous Modern Toilet Restaurant! But the toilet sucks!!!!!!! We sat on toilet bowls and ate from urinals. Hehehe. And our table was a bathtub!

Visited the hot spring area and there was a smokin drain downstream. Malcolm tried to be Marilyn Monroe but as you can see, he failed.

Went to Dan Shui, near the sea.

Night market again! Love the fried quail eggs!

Had really good you tiao and dou jiang! I forgot the name of the place.

Took the mao gong cable car. The journey was super long and I was amazed how steep and long the cables were...

We took a glass cabin so we could see everything below!

Met PQ & Zi Xian!

It was a short meet up but YAY!! Got to meet another friend overseas. Heheh.

Took this new train to Hua Lian...

Basically went trekking and nua-ing in the hotel. My favourite was nua-ing of course.

Another night market.

From Hua Lian, went to Kao Hsiung! I love it because the moment we step out from our hotel lobby, we will be in the most popular and happening night market in Taiwan, liu he night market.

Ate at this branch restaurant, shi er guo. Had shabu shabu! The whole pot was all mine!!

Some typical dessert but they were very generous with the ingredients!

Took a ferry to qi jin island.

Malcolm doing what he always do...

Took the high speed train to Tao Yuan airport which was near Taipei. Business class btw ;)

Ok, that sums up my Taiwan trip! Bye!

Bye April, Hello May!

So, tomorrow will be the 5th month of the year! So fast! Will be looking forward to a few things in May... Malcolm's return, our trip to Taiwan. (GOSH! We are going next week and I'm not even prepared! :/) The big moove to Wedge Mount, 2nd church anniversary etc etc etc.

Anyways, the lifegroup had this last minute kite flying session in view of Wei Jie's birthday!! Even though I slept 4 hours before the morning shift and joined them after work, I HAD FUN! Wheee! Time for me to get a nice kite so that I will go over to Marina Barrage and fly kite when I feel stressed or something! Hehee.

And that, we went to Whampoa Drive Food Centre for some really good food! Ate quite a bit of see-hums but thankfully I didn't get any food poisoning or stomachache! The BBQ crab was so good!! Ahhh! I can still visualise the egg part. My mouth is watering now. Hahaha!

Oh wait! I no need to visualise it! I took a photo of it! Hehe!

Last Saturday was the last service in Clarus Centre. We have been there for 2 good years! This is one last look of the stage...

Good bye to the old, hello to the new!!! I viewed the new place and trust me, IT'S AWESOME!!! I'm sure it won't take long for us to adapt in the new LifeHouse! Hehehe, I can't wait to share it!! I think my next entry will be about the lil details I like about the new place :)

As posted in Instagram, I chopped off my hair!!! I decided to cut yesterday and I did it today!! You can say that it's impulsive. It looks good when I walk out of the salon. But I hope it will stay like that... I am too lazy to keep the shape.

Let's just say... It's a new beginning for me :)

Yay...

I went to visit my teacher after 2 months! Being at her place sure brought back fond memories of the intensive singing lessons I had for the exam. But it's now over, and I am moving on to grade 8!! We talked a bit about it and I was quite scared. Let's just say I am taking a leap of faith once again! In the midst of our conversation, I was thinking why on Earth am I choosing to go through all the stress.

I don't know the answer. Just hoping that my singing will get better and better with more trainings :)

So Daryl is a big boy now who can walk :D

After that, met a friend for dinner. It's amazing to hear from him & his experiences in THAT industry. So actually, the real professional world is very much similar to what I have been dealing with, but worse. Anyway I am happy and blessed to be where I am now and am happy for him that he is good at what he is doing. Still, may we have a chance to work together someday! Heehee.

So that sums up my random-meet-up day!!! I think I used to do this more often in the past, just catching up with really random people and learning about their lives. I've stopped doing this because of work? And I might have been more of an introvert recently(that's just nonsense).

For now, I'm just looking forward to the big move in church! Hope everything will turn out good!! :D

Edges The Musical

So I watched Edges the musical on Wednesday night. I got to know it through facebook where they were sharing the facebook song. Coincidentally, or rather, obviously, Joel was the music director for the show! I got to know him some 8 years ago where he actually was a pianist for one of my choir concert and he played for SYF for us too.

Anyway, I must say that I enjoyed the musical overall. The drama centre black box was pretty small and that gave the actors and the audience intamacy. I am sure everyone was engaged. I could see the body language and facial expressions with ease.

The set was cute and I love the colourful light bulbs that were hanging from on top, just like in church(lifeunited church). The quality of the sound was really good, though Joel did tell me that they had problems initially. But it was fine! The voices were really crisp and the dynamics could be heard. It seemed like they did not need to put so much effort in singing due to the fantastic sound system.

It was a song-cycle so all they did was just transit from one song to another with no storyline. I would love to perform in this kind of musical actually. Simply concentrating on acting and singing and not worrying about screwing up the lines.

Ahhh, when will there be a chance for me to perform in a production again? :/
