Reminisce

Before I talk about the past...

I was eating in MacDonalds and read this on their tray. No doubt I LOVEEEE french fries from Macs, but the things that they say, is it the truth? Well, I was watching "Super Sized Me" and they did an expirement on these fries. Placing it in a jar over a long period of time. Scientifically speaking, potatos rot in no time right? Even the average french fries turned mouldy after a few days. Well for them, even after 3 months in a jar, not a single physical change seen. Strange?
SiShi and I *hugs* Gonna spend tomorrow with her! Muacks muacks. Hahaha.
Ok, so it starts here! I've been thinking about the past since yesterday, so I decided to look through my hard disk. Those memories that I had wasnt captured in cameras though :( But I came across a few good ones! So, here it goes!

I did mention that I wore a tudong before right? Here's to prove it! :)
This was taken last year, when my brother used my name to buy a MacBook. He also made used of the Singapore address for the people to send over, and also made use of some not so close friends to bring it over to Germany for him! How manipulative can Malcolm be, or is he being smart? Hahaha.
Look! I'm eating in a train!!!!!!!!!!!
 Before Europe trip,
and after Europe trip :) This proves that I did grow fatter with all the bread.
The performance at Esplanade! Though I had no trainer at all :( But I think it was good! Difficult to find chances already! Hahaha.
Some christmas party last year :)
I shall end here abruptly. Haha.
Sigh, it means the world to me. So, please...

EXAMS ARE OVER!

Meet my new fish friend, JingWei :) Though I got it by accident(and won't wanna explain the story here), I'm loving it a lot a lot!!! Great shots, IMHO by Canon IXUS80IS :)

Accidentally used flash! Hope I didn't make you blind! But nice to capture all the shiny scales :) Does it look ugly? To me, it's very beautiful!

Full body...With the free plant stalk the fish shop aunty gave and the "David stone" reminding me to be fearless when looking at JingWei!!

It's really cute! As you know, it's a fighting fish, I placed a mirror in front of it and it spread its fins out with full glory! Really beautiful! The funny thing is I placed the bottle of fish food beside it, and it showed a photo of another fighting fish. It also spreaded its fins! Hahaha! Interesting!

Any tips from you guys? I'm quite a noob and I don't wanna it to die so soon! Eh, advise me like how often to change water, where is a good place to put it, feed how much and all that lah! Just leave a tag :) Many thanks!!

It's great to have the EXAMS OVER!!!!!! I have a list of program waiting in line for me. Today, blood donation, support baptism and service! Sunday, going to Ikea to get a *secret item* ;) Monday, going to BBSS to visit teachers and Tuesday, shopping date with PeiQing!!!

My parents are CRAZY! It's 12.26am and they are both surfing YouTube on their own computers. They are more addicted compared to me!!! *rolls eyes*

Happy Day!! :)

Just bear with it... 2 more days..

Lesson learnt: Never under estimate Biology.

For the past 3 semesters, I have been always doing some last minute review the day before the paper! Well, I always thought I have studied enough and would leave it to the day before to finish up. But I would be always wrong @_@ I always have to be so frantic.

While sleeping, I kept reciting the stuff. My brain was super active that I could not go to sleep for an hour! :/ It's funny that I could only get to sleep when I sang "Defying Gravity" in my mind. Oh, not to mention, I used soap to wash my hair instead of shampoo @_@

My stomach has been funny. I have been passing out gas at home, in the car when my parents were fetching me and in the exam room! Super embarassing!! I even gave myself away by looking at XiaoPing! She said that another girl saw my head turning and she giggled at her table. Argh! Haha. Thankfully no smell.

Alright, I'm left with Mental Health! The last lap! I'm gonna finish this race! Ok lah, erm. Can I say that I won't fail any papers? But I want results that will push back my GPA to square one :( Ok lah, at least improve from the previous.

Things that I'm going to do after publishing this post:
Take a nap
Study for Mental Health (Duh!)
Pack my room (clear those lecture notes!)
Watch Singapore Idol!

A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down,
the medicine go down, medicine go down.
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down,
in the most delightful way!

My Passion

Well, during cell group meeting on Friday, some of the people shared their passion. I can't help it but to share mine here :) If you realised on the left column on the "About Me" section, some of you may be wondering what is "WestEnd and Broadway Musicals". The answer is simple. It's my passion! :)

Singing, acting or dancing to it, even watching, I love them all :)

Here is one song I am currently into!

Btw, this isn't the lady on the screen's voice. This youtuber changed the music and matched it with the screen. It's actually Julie Andrew's voice! Great, isn't she? If you are thinking who she is, she acted in many screen muscials like The Sound Of Music as "Maria" or Mary Poppins. I really like her articulation of words(ang mohs sure beat Asians like us hands down) and her talent of singing 4 octaves(as mentioned in some shows featuring her).

Of course I do like Sarah Brightman(the first artise i got familiar at the age of 7) with her angelic oprea-ish voice. And Kristen Chenoweth, with her nasal high-pitched voice. Ahhh, if only I could be like them one day... It's great anyway watching and singing like them at home! When I fulfill one of my materialistic desires, I will definitely record my singing! Though it is quite sad that I have to face up with reality. Nevermind, I'll be a musical performer for all I want in heaven!! I will still seize every oppurtunity I have here meanwhile :)

More than that, musicals are interesting when you see how the lyrics really match the story. And how from a conversation, can become a song with dance moves, physical gestures and dynamics! It's a way of totally expressing oneself.

For now, gotta concentrate on my exams! :/ Allow me to list the screen muscials I am so going to watch after the exams!

Fiddler On The Roof
Mary Poppins
My Fair Lady
The King And I
South Pacific
Annie Get Your Gun
Oklahoma!

Not forgetting, Chicago in the theatre!!!!! Woohoo! In Melbourne with JingWei and BingRong :)

Stay tuned for another post on the musicals I have watched and the things I have learnt from them! Gosh! I can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on!!!!

I love school, but I hate exams

Well, this is the current condition of Malcolm's room :) Nice eh? I have notes all over the place to accomodate to the different positions I feel like having when I study. I can sit by the table, lie flat on the bed and sit on the bed while lying on the back rest! Fyi, I don't pray to the piglet. They are actually speakers so that I can listen to abit of music at times!Well, I just completed 5 hours of studying phamocology @_@ Understanding the concepts and memorising drugs is one thing. Bring them into the exam hall is another!!! Urgh, that's one thing I really hate. And I have no idea why I took 5 hours(and more last week) to study for a paper that is going to last for an hour. What's more, 2 module credits only. I promise myself this is the last subject I'm going to retake. Haha. I won't wanna repeat this all over again.

I guess I'm over stressing myself. Is it because of the bond thingy? Well, I thought I was "good enough" that's why I decided to go for it. But for now, things have changed :( Argh. I just wanna prepare for the worst. Oh well.

Okok, I shall not dwell over all these demoralising things! Wait for results day! Don't care! Gotta proclaim it!! I WILL DO WELL! I WILL IMPROVE!

I foresee, I'm gonna be super busy after the exams ;) Totally can't wait for everything!

I'd Do Anything! ANYTHING!

Just came back with a great time with friends! Will post photos up when my exams end! So sad that I'm having exams this week, so I could not ton with them :(( While waiting for my hair to dry, might as well share this!

I'll do anything
For you dear anything
For you mean everything to me

I know that
I'll go anywhere
For your smile, anywhere -- (To get it, anywhere)
For your smile, ev'rywhere -- (To have that, ev'rywhere)
I'd see (To have)

I'm gonna sing this song till I get it! :) [words in bracket are the altered lyrics. haha. and "you" refers to a non-living thing, not a person]

Someone told me to pen down my dreams and desires I have longed all my life, not bothering about the feasibility and circumstances of this world. Well, at times we do get restricted when we have our careers and spouses. I am going to make the best out of my life!

Together with that, JingWei's post has inspired me greatly. Yes, yes. I WILL achieve it! I'm gonna give what I've got. Because it's all that I have ever wanted.

Mind Mapping Madness!

My mind feels so branched out now! I've never done that many mindmaps in my life(except during the good old D and T days) Yup, I've been using the mindmapping method to study!! Hope it works!!

Happy Birthday to my dearest friend, JingWei :) Wanted to post a couple of photos but blogger is not allowing me to. I think the htmls are all corrupted or something. Jeez :/

Ok, I have to admit. The laptop is distracting me! Well, I SHALL NOT TURN THIS ON TOMORROW! Yeah, anyway tomorrow I can only study half a day because we're celebrating Carlos' birthday!!!!!

Had diarrhoea earlier in the day! Funny isn't it? I'm studying about diahorrea and there I am experiencing stomach pains and visits to the toilet. Well, at least I am hydrating myself sufficiently, following what I have learnt ;)

Thought in my mind: Mommy is officially addicted to YouTube. Gosh, the songs she's playing are driving me crazy! She plays it like a million times! :/

Alright! Back to the mindmap!

Congrats!!!!

For the first time, I have people in my cellgroup who are in SOT!!! Phew!~ 5 months are over! (5 months ago i was busy preparing for clubcrawl. haha) My biggest congrats goes out to them :DYup, these 2 lovely brothers! Royston and Ronaldo! Looking smart in their gown. Heee, I can't wait to graduate from NYP as well. I think I will be get emotional and cry...Ron's grandma :) I have been assured. I LOVE Gerontology!! Well, let's see how it goes :)After service, we had a surprise for Jacob!!! At least, we managed to eat his favourite food, subway :)Perfect timing!Yup so Happy 20th Birthday Jacob! :D Continue to do creative stuff for the cellgroup! Hehe.

Anyway, week has been sastisfying. I must say that all the studying had been put to good use :) But, I need to study more! Thankfully, I have 4 more "full" days to study till the first paper! I hope things will go well this semester! Though it has been a tough one, I WILL EMERGE!

Really thank God, that I passed my BCLS theory test. I mean having 24/30 as the passing mark is no joke! My hands shivered like never before and the clock was ticking. But I was glad, upon clicking on the "End Assignment" I found out that I had 3 mistakes. Well, if only this could happen to ALL my tests. Heh..

I know this is random but I love songs from "Wicked" the Musical! I can't stop listening to them! I hope they will come to Singapore and I don't mind watching it for the second time(but not philipino cast please). Well, JingWei is watching it in Melbourne on her birthday! That's like the best birthday gift to have, seriously. [ok latest update... no more wicked for her :((((]

I've been thinking about certain things, and I'm glad where I am now :) I mean, if things happened the other way, I would be a very different person to a negative extend. I guess right now is the time of moulding and shaping so that I can achieve my ultimate dream with the best possible attitude to have.

Talented People

It felt like an Orchestra playing! Simply soothing music. I wanna play like them! Well, wait till I go to heaven or something :/

Thanks Rach!

Cognitive Restructuring

10 more days to my first paper! AHHHHH! Thinking it in another perspective, after my exams, I'M GOING TO MELBOURNE! I really, really, really can't wait because I'm going overseas without any organisation or my parents once again! But I'll be going with a good buddy of mine, BingRong :) More than that, I get to see JingWei!!! :)

My plane will fly off on September the 11th, and will return on the 20th! ARGH! I'm trying very hard to contain this excitement. As my school's director said, I better concentrate on my exams first :/ Exams, exams, exams. If only I could be exam smart and have really good memory. Gonna study as hard as I can anyway :)

National Day was spent at Ronaldo's house, with food that would be only red and white(not exactly)... Nevermind! It was fun anyway! Halfway, I imagined how it would be like if JingWei was still around. All the complaining, jokes or apprecation of food, scolding of Henry and etc....

I need to increase my study hours to like 6 a day! That will be my goal for this week.

Oh, on Friday, we celebrated 12.34pm 56sec 07/08/09!!!

Just for Laughs

My Biology lecturer showed this to us before one of the lecture... I was relating some parts when I was over at Greece (quite similar to Italy). They're quite true!! I still remembered what Malcolm said to me when I just arrived at the airport in Greece.

"Over here, safety is NEVER first"

What on Earth is wrong with me??!?!!

I really got to thank the lecturer-in-charge for telling the lecturer(not very fond of her when she taught us in year one. hehe) who was assessing me for BCLS to let me have another go. If not, she would have failed me. Well, at least I borderline-ed it the first attempt. And for other lecturers, they would give the students up to 3 chances. Seriously, failure to me is very upsetting. But thank God...

This semester is has been a very discouraging one. Everything is not doing so well, like a replay of what happened to me during sec2 and 3... It really stinks to go up and down in terms of results. Especially, knowing that you did somewhat well just before and see your grades dropping like crazy the next moment.

Ok, maybe I have no right to comment for this semester because I have not got any results, not even taken the exams yet! But yeah, I have been paranoid! Dreaming that I failed, waking up to realise that there is still time for me to study hard! Stress, does it trigger the fight or flight response?

At the end of the day, I wanna do well. And who knows, it may inspire the younger student nurses to never give up despite facing failures! But of course I would need to be somebody like Oprah to do so. Hahaha. I can't wait to work and be one very old nurse that won't be told what to do or get reprimanded. Heee. Yeah, that's the ultimate dream!

And can you believe it?! My tutorial group is banned from stepping into school for a week! Well, it turned out that the nursing manager learned about the number of MC-ed people and was kinda furious about it. Even today's theory test was cancelled. Urgh. In a way, this is good because I can find time to study. It gets really distracting when I starting studying when I come back from school, because I will have the urge to use the lappy! But with a whole day at home, I'm sure I'll get sick of the lappy ;)

Cheers to a successful studying week!!!! (proclaiming it by faith!)

Ladies' Night (Disney Musical Craze)

Happy Birthday dearest Syuhada!!! :D Hope you liked the surprise yeah! More than that, hope you enjoyed the time spent, like I did ;)

Thumbs up for NYP! "NYP, Your Choice!!!" Seriously, we should be ambassadors of the school!!!

First in the program was watching "Bride Wars" the movie. Though I've watch it once before with JingWei, it was nice! The last part of the movie captured my heart. It will only be your best friend that will know what you like/dislike and your habits, rather than your spouse. Awww, I'm missing her. No worries, September! I can't wait to give you a big hug!!!!!!

Then main highlight of the night was to dance and act with the music. Today, we had mostly High School Muscial songs! Not bad eh, we, SoundCarders can sing, act, dance, plan movements. During biology lecture, I was learning about ageing. Well, now it is really the chance to enjoy the young days of my life!

Yeah, it was a great way to end the "enjoying" part of year 2 sem 1 and start studying! From today onwards, no staying back unless it is for studying.

I would like to end this post with the final pose we made after the songs for National Day performance last Wednesday! Heehee. The night that I will remember :)

Awesome Week :)

Had a super awesome week! Ahhh, time to enjoy a lil before the exams start kicking in :( First up, National Day performance at NYP!! SoundCard rocks my socks! You guys did a great job! Wheee! Haven't seen such a bunch of enthusiastic people in a long time! After the performance, we took some studio shots. Credit goes to NYP photography club!

The exsiting committee members of SoundCard! Performed to promote musical as well. Hehee, to me, it was considerd good as I only prepared the song the night before!! And I didnt sing the song for like 2 months. Yay me. LOL.

Then, Nurses Day cum National day celebration at SHS.... What a lovely cake!

Shikin in her concert. Hahaha. Yeap, she was great, as usual.. Hahaha.

Yesterday, celebrated Mommy's birthday with a simple dinner followed by fireworks at Marina Barrage. It was my parent's first time there! Glad that they were enlightened to see the new changes in Marina South.

Today, celebrated City Harvest's 20th Anniversary in the indoor stadium!!!! Loved the celebration. Tears were rolling down my cheeks most of the time. Indeed, I am glad to be in this spiritual family :) Thank you City Harvest!!!

Me, Joey and Xue Er!!

No matter what, I will still love this church! I was tested by so many of the dream-wrecking experiences over the past few years. But guess what, I need not the stage, the exposure, the fame blah blah to be happy! I have friends and leaders that made City Harvest a greater place to be in! Really, nothing else can replace that!

Thank YOU for bringing me to church :) My life would be so different if not for you. I really appreciate Pastor Kong's devotion and sacrifice to the church as well. Though the other pastors were all acknowledging and all that, pastor Kong still presented his mentor and acknowledged him as well! Not only that, pastor mentioned that all the members do play a part in the successful 20 years. I got to really learn to be as humble as him!

This church has really enabled me to nuture to be a better person, be so hungry for God and experience Him in a tangible way... Just want to thank God for leading me into this wonderful family and allowing me to be part of this revival. Looking forward to the next 20 years ahead!!!

Proud to be a City Harvester!!!

Love, Maria
