I'm improving, day by day :)
I was just looking through my previous blog post. There was this one time during PRCP I broke down after an afternoon shift because I feel so much like a noob and could not do a simple thing like passing report to the next shift of just one patient!
Guess what, I can pass report confidently now. Yay! I am so proud of myself!
I aim to be super competent in taking cases and at least know the basics of chemo by the end of June! And by November(JCI period), I must be so good that my colleagues would rely on me for help!
Ok, I also hope I wont't get sick of working. Ugh, I think I already am. That's why I have things to look forward to always! Now that graduation is over. I'm looking forward to 9th June, where there will be a casting session!
So sleepy.......

Moi Diploma in Nursing Graduation!
I believe there will be more graduations to come!! Hahaha. Anyway I had a good time seeing the people once again :) I will really miss the good old NYP times. Heh. Popped by the singers' waiting area to kay po kay po!!
Saw my KKH partner there too! Hahahhaa.
Proud to present my preceptor and a dear colleague (senior)!!! :D They are both smart people and doing an awesome job in the real working world!
My mom, who always looks after me <3
Self-taken shot with my lovely parents! Though Dad pisses me off most of the time. LOL.
The singers who sang for my graduation! Proud to know them!! :D
Love this candid shot! Heehee.
And finally, a proper shot of the people I spent most of my poly days with. They have made my 3 years a good one. I still remember before I entered Poly, I wanted to be a loner and always go home and study and have no life! But they did not allow me to! Hahaha, no choice! :P Anyway, I'm sure our friendship will last long :) Congrats guys! Oh just to mention, all of us are employed and doing a nursing-related job. Woohoo we rock!
We literally received just a piece of paper! But I'm not going to just let it all go say that "It is finished". But to me, the journey just started. 'Life' awaits me! I'm just so excited about everything! Indeed 2011 is the year of so many new beginnings :)
I can't wait and sincerely hope that I can be part of NYP's 20th anni production. NYP means something to me and what better way to express it by being involved in her 20th year celebration? Hehehe. *prays hard*

I love my LifeGroup!
After service, we went to watch that pirate movie. Okay, honestly I had no choice but to go. But then the movie wasn't THAT bad except it had to be draggy the first part. I was trying all means to keep awake. Hehehe. Roy received a missed from Pb and we called back via FaceTime! Woohoo! So we were all looking at the iPad and her pretty face. It was fun! :)
The next day, no choice. Had to go to Sentosa!! And now I suffering from the sunburns. Love KerYuan's blue hair :)
The awesome people!
All got carried away~~
I would still prefer to sit on the mat, under an umbrella :D
GRADUATION TOMORROW!!! YAY!!!

:)
Yesterday, the whole NYP gang celebrated Rene's birthday :)
I just miss those times where we were smaller and then she would pop by most of the time during practices. Looking forward to the upcoming production. Hopefully a bunch of us will be part of it and we can all react those times! :)
So I went back to work after 2 lovely rest days. Saw one of my patient who was previously warded. I knew her well enough to remember her name. Even her daughter called me her "god daughter" when I approached the bed. But my heart totally sank when I saw her. I seriously could not recognise her with just a glance. From being slightly chubby, she is now as skinny as her bones.
She was just lying helplessly on the bed. Her husband would be by her side doing as what she wants. She was even too weak to speak properly. I smiled at her but she just could not bring herself to smile back at all, unlike the previous time I saw her. Somehow I know that her time is coming. All I could do was to just stand by her bed and hold her hands and hers holding mine tightly. I felt so sad and was very close to tears...
Well, that's a glimpse of my life in terms of working. Nursing is really not for the faint hearted. I am still coping and learning.
Maybe that's the reason why I wanna be a palliative nurse. It trains me to be a stronger person.

I'm Crazy!
Been spending hours and hours on my new toy! :D I'm so glad I finally got it!!
It will change my life! Heheheh. And thankfully I have 4 days off this week to meddle with it more!! :D Oh man, sometimes I hope I will have off days forever!!!
I shall continue to play with my new toy and be lonely forever... Ok, just kidding.

Tired but Excited!
Just came back from NYP. The alumnus of SoundCard (a few of us only lah) gathered to practice for SC production! :D Our instructor came by and gave really constructive comments. Hehe. She said that we all really could harmonise. Yeah man! That is what my life is all about! Hahaha. I can't wait for the actual day! Gotta impress all the other clubs! :P
Been doing quite well in the ward I suppose. It's like my capacity is getting bigger and bigger, more responsibility, higher expectations. Even today my sister suddenly "tested" me on my patients, thankfully I could answer confidently! Can't wait to be EVEN MORE competent :) I still remember that my goal is in June! June is approaching real soon! Woohoo I can do it baby!
The next big thing I am looking forward to is my graduation!!! :DDD

A New Life At Clarus Centre
So last Saturday was THE DAY a couple of us had been waiting for. Life United had her first service at her own venue!! No need to share and compromise! *selfish* Hahaha. The few days before the unofficial opening was a lil crazy. Everyone who were present were getting things done in their own areas. Well, for me I didn't have a major role anywhere so I just went everywhere! Hehe. It was fun!! :P
A glimpse of the musicians doing their thang :)
It is Monday today and I ALREADY cannot wait for the coming Saturday!! Woohoo!
I love Life United!!

Last Cycle of Chemotherapy Done
One of the closest patient I had is in the process of her 11th and last cycle of chemotherapy! Yesterday, both of us just recalled how we both met. I still remember answering all her questions and doubts about chemotherapy with I was a student nurse then. And five months later, you can say that she's recovered from cancer!
For those who might be interested, she was suffering from Gestational Trophoblastic Disease.
This is what I told her yesterday:
"Now that you have gone through the 11 cycles of chemotherapy and recover from it, you can be an inspiration and motivation to the women out there who have just been diagnosed with your condition or any cancer-related problems."
I don't know~ Some women who found out they have cancer might stumble across this post via the different search engines. I hope this post can propel them forward. The most important thing is that one should have a positive mindset and the willpower to get better!

Another long weekend
For the past 2 mornings, I have been waking up late. I realise it's a really bad thing! But no worries! I can't do it for the next 3 days at least! Heh.. So at least I have to thank my work for helping me to cultivate this waking up early habit! :) Too bad that I woke up late today and could not follow my parents to Mustafa (i could have got many things by following them) but Dad has been calling me like 5 times already if I wanna buy this or that. I rejected all the offers cos all that he mentioned were irrelevant items. It's good that I did so. You have no idea how much stuff we have cluttered in this place!
So the big move of Life United is happening and I'm pretty excited about it! Finally a place where I can call home and feel belonged there. Went to take a peek on Saturday and it was so difficult to leave the place. Most of us were just hitting the musical instruments and spinning on those office chairs. Simply can't wait for Saturday! :D
The hottest thing in Singapore is of course the election. It's really madness everywhere! At least it's the only time where you can anyhow shout if you agree/disagree. But as what someone mentioned, right now Singapore really "bo jin hu". Hahaha! Ok, no matter what happens, I'm just looking forward to a better Singapore. I am not entitled to vote though due to my age. I'm quite relieved about that.
Right now the whole is celebrating over O's death. I mean, it's quite scary isn't it? So much hatred from everywhere around the world. The last thing that I wanna have is people celebrating over my death. Oh dear, that's horrid. I won't reflect on the things he did but yeah, it's still sad.
Heard over the radio about Andrew Lloyd Webber's concert/musical in July! I'm pretty excited about it and I WILL WATCH IT! But just a problem of who I will watch it with. Hehe. But I love the fact that his not-so-famous musicals like "The Beautiful Game" & "Starlight Express" would be played, as seen on the poster. It's so hard to find people who can appreciate such music. I found a couple of friends though. Looking forward to talk to them about it! :D
I shall spend the rest of my PH in lieu packing my room!
