Awesome weekend

Apart from work, I tried to give myself my fair share of fun!!! Jeez! All I need is sleep now! Zzzz... Ok, so my weekend was awesome because Elson invited us to 987's RSVP partay! My main intention was to get free drinks, free food(no free food boohoo) and FREE GIFTS/PRIZES!!!! AND I DID! MUAHAHAHHA!

They wanted the attendees to submit photos of the party and post it on instagram. They were looking something creative and related to the party and I thought of this :)

Boy I was so, so happy when I saw my entry on the TV screen! Heeheehee. I was pratically dancing on stage! Yay! And I had this lovely/funny shot with the Muttons! Justin asked me what was the inspiration of the photo... I told him that I like to eat. *stupid answer and making a fool out of myself*

The group of us managed to take a photo with all the 987 DJs! Jeez!! Looking at most of them makes me feel like I'm growing older :( Slowly, there people are becoming my age. And one day, I'll be older than them!(except the Muttons of course, hehehehhe)

Cynthia and I with our prized possession! This face because I was having a hangover (kidding). She won herself a prize because she managed to down a bottle of beer and owed the guys! Salute!

Had to work morning the next day hohoho and celebrated You Peng's birthday after work :D

So that sums up my awesome week! Nurses' Day is coming and  I can't wait to take more pretty photos and have fun YAY!

Filming

I had an exclusive chance to be part of a patient education video!!! I was jumping around when I got to know that I would be playing the patient :DDDD There were 2 parts of the filming. One counselling and the OT part. It is nice to see how the OT is like! Here are some snapshots of the filming....

I was totally pampered by nurses around. Like so many of them surrounding me. It really feels good... It does. Do my patients feel it that way when we care for them? Even the doctor doing the "surgery" on me, I just had this "connection" with her, leaving my life in her hands and decisions.

I had a little flash back of the operation I had as a child... Yes, it was that kind of assurance from the nurses that made me wanna be a nurse. I still remember that they gave me a little Hello Kitty bookmark. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere anymore :(

We could not help but to take a selfie!

Prolly how I will look like after the operation. It was fun to be pushed around. Heehee. Had that thrill. I am just so amazed that females are able to transfer me from bed to trolley easily!~ It's something that we do everyday, but we just don't realise how strong we can be as a team!

At one instance, I had a little chat with the director. She knew that I am an oncology nurse. Then, she started to pour out her feelings about her sick aunt who has cancer... Like what the family is going through etc etc... She just kept sharing and sharing. It made me feel good that she made me a listener. I am just hoping that I will have these kind of good chit chats with my patients of their family members often.

Yup, I'm ready to go back to the ward as a better nurse! :)

Unstoppable Love

God you pursue me with power and glory
Unstoppable love that never ends
Your unrelenting with passion and mercy
Unstoppable love that never ends

No sin, No shame, No past, No pain
Can separate me from your love
No height, No depth, No fear, No death
Can separate me from your love

Thank You God for Your love that never ends. Believing that this journey that I take is planned by You...

PINK!

Yesterday was Pink dot day, again. Have always wanted to go for the event... Next year, or sometime soon perhaps? But since I could not make it, I decided to wear pink to show my stand!

I just wanna quote this Bible verse....
Matthew 7:1-5
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

If you are talking about building proper and complete families, go deal with your own family first. Your own grandson does not even have a proper family to begin with. You know, I managed to "protect" myself because of the proper Christian moral values I have learned in church and from my parents.

Anyway, I am not position to say much, but this is just my opinion.

Results boohoo

Got back my sem 2 results, like finally... Got 2 B+ and 1 B, which gives me a GPA of 3.49(what?!?! A friggin 0.01 to be "safe" to apply for sponsorship). I do feel a little disappointed. I just feel that if things were to happen in another way, I would not get such good, but not good enough marks. Sigh.... Considering that I had lazy group members. Ok, I know it's not fair for me to judge them. But really. I guess, had I join other groups with elite students inside, I might have done better. And the place where I had my chemo center placement. I don't think I was graded fairly. As compared to others who went to other institutes....

Anyway there's nothing that I can do about it. I do feel inferior of course, as I am the poorest among my colleagues. Honestly I think my results are good. But what to do.... To be known and recognised, I have to be better than "good". Yeah. That's true in the dog-eat-dog world.

What comforts me is to see my manager happy about me and my results. Yesterday, she actually shared with me how much she has tried on her part to make the scholarship thing possible for me. She knows that it means so, so much to me. She is really God-sent :) Well, let's see as of now, what I can do to help me in my future. Seriously, all I ask for is free education. Nothing else. Not promotion, not awards blah blah blah.

But ultimately, I leave it to God to direct my path.

Visiting the dentist

Finally! After 3 years (yes I am guilty of it), I visited the dentist!

He first examined my teeth and said, "Honestly your oral hygiene is really bad, I need to do some intensive scaling for you. You really need to come back every 6 months."

And I didn't expect it to hurt to much! D: It hurt REAL BAD. But I was a good patient and tahan all the way...

So here's a before and after comparison of my teeth! Posting this to remind me to visit the dentist faithfully every 6 months before my teeth falls off. Even though I know wearing dentures is cute.
