So long, 2010!

Once again, it's the end of the old year and the new year is coming up!! I would like to just list down the amazing things I've accomplished, like what I do every year. [it's really nice to look back at this once in awhile!]

1) Major Performances!! :D
A Night On Broadway [5&6 Feb]

Happi Family Game! [10&11 Jul]

Yeah, I would give up almost everything to perform in the theatre! Well, I must say that I'm not very very good but each time I perform, I improve :D

2) Getting my driving license

Don't worry, that's not by me. It was obviously my mom!! HAHAHA. And it was months ago...

3) Having my very first mission trip in LC! It was even more special to me because it was a youth camp!!

4) Bought my djembe, ukulele and bass guitar! :DDD

5) Backpacking to Japan with my FAT brother! [ok i look fat in the photo too]

So far these are the things I can think of... Time to sleep byebye.... (so abrupt!)

A Month In 43 (nah, actually 16 days...)

Hmmm, not that bad afterall!! Well, I know initially I found it rather hard to just fit in and know the staff. But at least for now, I know almost all the staff(their names) and stalked them on facebook! MUAHAHAHAHA. And guess what! I think, I LOVE MY PRECEPTOR! :D [heh, hope she doesn't see this, cos it'll be so awkward]

For the past 2 days, I've been really doing my homework by studying all the stuff that I'm supposed to know! Flipping through those textbooks and writing down all those notes really makes me miss studying. BUT for now I just can't wait to it over and done with my PRCP! Which means by the time my PRCP ends, I'll be so confident and competent in being a staff nurse! Yeah! 2 more months!

What's more year 2 students would be coming down for their gynae attachment. I can bully them. MUAHAHAHA.

I'm just looking forward to learning even more things! :) Hopefully I can stay in 43 when I pass out too!!

This Is The Time!

Dear Roy just sent me the song and I have been listening to it like for a million times already! NICE!~ I LOVE THAT SONG! Heee! I wonder how my song is gonna turn out. Everyone has been making fun of posh car this posh car that. Hahaha. But that's not the main thing in my song -___- Nevermind~

Anyway, despite having offs, I am still so busy and tired! What to do... Yesterday ACC had a Christmas party! It was fun! Really fun! Everyone went crazy and acted like 6-year-olds when it came to games! Heeee. Really, I had a blast :D Managed to have a photo taken with these lovely people!!

Coincidentally, they are people from the awesome music team! \m/ And also my very special cutie pie! :D

Who is actually growing older. Which means not getting cute anymore :( And my eyes are so small. It's either I'm really happy (smiling) or I'm really tired.

After that went to have Christmas celebration with my Secondary School friends. I LOVED the food which was prepared! Yummy! But sigh, I ate too much for the first party, so there wasn't much space for the second round. OH WELL!

Went for Christmas service on Christmas Eve. Right now, I have a different perspective when watching dramas! All the crying scenes reminded me of my crying scene in Happi Family Game. Wooo, I loved that moment. I can't wait too get my hands on the video SOON!!!! And I had my first few hours of Christmas spent with these darlings!

Yeah! We had a good time chatting over FML posts, funny relatives and how well I can pose like a bitch :D Once again Jing, I am professional. I ain't showing my true colours because being pleasant and demure is the real me! :DDDD

Ok, I'm glad that finally on a Christmas Day, I can spend some time with my parents. Time to also get back the $50 that I paid for the petrol earlier on :P

MERRY CHRISTMAS YA'LL!

Demoralised

Well, if you were to describe my feeling right now, it would be demoralised. I just tried to take a case (yes, finally after 3 years in nursing school) today and I sucked. My friends all did try out before and I guess they were pretty good. But I sucked. Really sucked. I've never been so embarrassed my whole life before! Especially when just passing ONE case! But I am thankful that the staff of ward 43 are just so patient and understanding....

Which means, I'm gonna stand up after this fall!!! I am prepared for tomorrow or the next few days! Bring it on man!!!

On the way back, I cheered myself up by thinking of the stuff I did before that sucked at first, but now I'm just so confident in it :)

1) The very recent one!!! Driving! Look how far and wide I drive now! I used to be soooooo noob! Right now I'm on my own!!
2) Working in Mandarin Oriental. First few days I was hated because I was so blur and lousy. But as the months went by, I was sent to serve more important functions or in charge of more important tables!
3) Can't think of anymore... Haha.

I hope I'll get better and better! Urgh, I just can't wait to be so competent! I want it to happen by mid-Jan! Yup, that will be my goal! Future Staff Nurse Maria Boey, YOU can do it!!!

Ah! Finally some rest!

The past few days have been really hectic for me! It all started on Tuesday when I did morning shift. After work I went for DT carolling practice followed by choir practice! Ended rather late and went back home @_@ Thankfully, Wednesday was my day off! So, drove out to Marina Barrage with Jing! And guess what we had for our 'picnic'... Yeap, you guess it!

Had fun roaming around and busking in the sun. I think... We were supposed to jump. Hahaha!

After this outing I went for a musical rehearsal in the evening! The location was a killer - Tampanies. But I really enjoyed myself! Miss doing such shows! I'm glad I have this chance once again! YAY. Wahoooo! Let's hope I can do up a really good show despite missing most of the rehearsals. I also hope that my ward will be kind enough to let me off on the correct days.

Then Thursday was afternoon shift! After that, went over to JW for the final prac. It ended at 11.20pm. From that moment I know that I was stepping beyond my limit... Had to work morning shift on Friday! TIRED AND SLEEPY! After work, I went down for carolling at SGH. It was a really good experience! :D After SGH we went to Pinnacle. The place was beautiful!

Saturday I had to work morning shift again! @_@ After that I had to rush to Expo for performance! Urgh, I really hate myself cos I misplaced something! It's really complicated lah. Let's hope I am able to retrieve it back when I ask around tomorrow. Please please please! Sometimes I really hate myself for being so careless :(

Anyway Christina was there to make the situation better! The way she carries herself just gives me this sense of security. I was able to perform on Saturday eventually. Heh.. After the wonderful Candlelight service, had dinner with ACC! And this morning I had to wake up early once again for the Sunday morning service. At least right now I feel way better after a lil nap! :D Here are the photos of the performance behind the scenes!

Heeee. Given more time, I'm sure things will be better! But everything happens for a reason! Can't wait for more of the friendship adventures we're gonna have!!! ;)

I was having conversation with my nursing friends, and we were like talking about allowances and bonuses we would receive as Staff Nurses. I got really really excited and they were telling me that they see dollar signs in my eyes.

Oh man, why am I so money-minded? :/

Too Soon To Be True

Before I begin, to me, this is what showing love is all about :)

And I hope my fellow nursing classmates are doing well with their first day at PRCP! Just like I did, I think...

I was issued this. A nice way to welcome me. I don't know, but tags just give me a sense of belonging... Hehe. I used to have this during my 2nd year posting, but now it is different with the red label!

And we were issued our very own staff Kopitiam card. Hehehe. It gives us a 20% off! Ok, but I think I will be looking more into bringing food from home. Urgh, I just when I was telling myself this, "Ok, PRCP. Time to start afresh. Focus on losing weight!!", I saw Macdonalds and Mr Bean (I go for his ice cream) over there. That's it man. Let's see how long I am able to survive walking pass them everyday...

Stepping into KKH brought back fond memories. The ones that I took pictures of fellow male student nurses (they suck) being lazy during work, once staying for my afternoon shift until 10pm and wearing the surgical mask with tiger balm applied onto it.

For the whole of today, we were basically locked up in a seminar with various power point presentations. Sometimes I wonder, how on earth was she able to elaborate so, so much on a single point?! To be honest I tried to steal some sleep. I don't know why!! I slept earlier last night! And to make things worse, the aircon was like at full blast to my direction.

I think tomorrow will be better, with more relevant stuff to share and the hospital tour. Sigh, but I still miss my SJH residents. I miss rubbing shampoo on their hair, I miss observing the types of methods I should feel them, I miss pouring milk into the syringe and I miss calling out to them multiple times. Oh man oh man.

I can't wait to step into the ward. Like seriously, right now I don't know what to expect! How are my new colleagues and sister like? How are my shifts going to be like? What kind of nursing task am I expected to do? Ok, I am seriously rusty in them already! The last time I was in the ward was in January this year! Hope my flaws won't be too obvious on Wednesday. Heh...

Ok, pray that everything will go smoothly :)

SJH Posting - The best attachment ever

When I wake up in the morning, this is what I see...

I got to admit that I'm kind of a lazy person. And I have to faithfully fulfil my 8 hours of sleep if not I would be dead tired! Jeez! Sometimes I wish that there will be more than 24 hours a day, so that I can do more things and sleep also.

Back to my attachment, we had reflection on Tuesday. For like the whole day. I mean, what kind of attachment gives you that?!

What kind of attachment expects you to come up with a performance for the residents? Muahahahaha. We all had fun, and it was great!! :) The best part is that we got to dress up!!

Sister Jennifer!! She's really nice! :D Always imparting wise advice to us! Ok, I have officially grow fatter. Sigh, all thanks to this attachment. Muahahaha.

Tomorrow will be so difficult to say 'good-bye' :( NO WORRIES, I'll be back for community outreach, but for awhile only. Muahahahaha! Or maybe I'll be back for good! Like working as a staff nurse! If there are oppurtunities....

I wanna take more photos tomorrow with the residents. But I won't be posting them! Hoho, too bad.

I really hope tomorrow will be a LONG, LONG dayyyyyyyyyy. So that I can enjoy my last moments with them....

Sometimes I Wish Attachment Did Not Exist

Been visiting NP quite a number of times and had thoughts of 'what if I studied in NP' blah blah. I can say that I never regret schooling in NYP because I'm in the best club ever!!! To me, it's the coolest club ever because I get to hear out other singers, learn a couple of tips and most importantly, perform! It's been a couple of weeks since I last performed and a couple of months since I had major performances. I miss performing :( For once I hate my attachment :(

Had some interview last week. Hehe, it was rather fun! Yeah, as I answer the questions, I begin to realise how much I love SoundCard :)

Just miss those moments when we were smaller (more chances to sing) and more free. Urgh, now we're all busy with school and stuff! Well, for me at least.

I'm kind of yearning to perform for THAT but I am just so afraid that I can't cope with my PRCP. And.... I got no message about it recently. Well, the previous news I had was like 2 weeks ago and it was a 'yes'. Urgh, so is the decision still hanging there? I don't know! To go or not to go!?!?! Either way, I'll be happy and stretched at the same time. I hate such feelings :/

Jing is back! And she got me Mary Poppins Musical CD. Hehe. Ahhhh, I just love orchestras playing to musical songs. I don't know how to describe that kind of melody. But I can identify them and I LOVE IT. Ok, I got a feeling Mary Poppins' Australia's cast will be coming to Singapore really soon. I will watch it!! I'm a true blue musical fan man! \m/


And back to the main point! Jing is back! Wahooo!! Managed to share the necessary things to her. Feel so much better. LOL. I wish I was having my holidays right now, then I could just go out and hang out with her all the time! But no worries. There are always the weekends! :D Oh, babe! Looking forward to talk a proper glam photo with you!! Wahahahaha.


It's been 3 weeks working in SJH. Argh, I love that place so much! Been hugging and kissing a lot of my patients. Oops. They kiss me too ok! But no worries, they have nothing to spread to me. If only my grandparents were still alive, I would have given all of them one million hugs and kisses man. Gonna miss them so much but I'm sure I'll visit them again and again!


The past few days has been kinda emotional for me, but I guess it's getting better. Oh, and some specific person had to just make things worse. Hey, if you feel alone and hate your life, don't blame others ok! I have never ever seen anyone so selfish. Ya, no wonder you fall apart with almost all your friends(i dont have to spell out who). Found your own new good friends already? Give me a few years and the same thing will happen on how it's happening to us right now. I hardly have this conflict conflict thingy with my friends(perhaps one or two) but for you, it seems like you ALWAYS have it. So you should know where the problem lies in. If you like to magnify the lil flaw(which i dont even think it is) that we did, I can also magnify yours. But you know what? I'll just go your way. If you want me to rebut and have some of my attention given to you, you can just forget it :) Oh, and I feel really sorry for you, because you have lost a bunch of really nice friends. Friends that had NEVER backstabbed you until you lit up the fire. I don't know if you'll read this or not, but I reckon you go reflect on your behaviour before doing anything. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me because I always have true friends around me, losing you is no biggie to me :) If you want to be mean, I can be mean also. I am known to be very insensitive and I can just talk you down if I want to. Ok, this will be the last of me mentioning about you. We're just gonna move on.


So basically that's how my week has been like. Heeeee. I mean like seriously I can be nice and cheerful. But if you love war, I'll just play along lah! I try my best to give in yet people just don't know how to cherish it. Anyway it's not me against someone. It's a group of us, but I just speaking up on behalf of the group. Ok Maria stop talking about it!

Another Crazy Weekend

Oh man! Have been packed with LOADS of stuff this weekend and finally I am able to settle down and have time of my own :) Thankfully I am able to finish what I am supposed to do. Most importantly is my case presentation!!! Did a rehearsal this morning and I thought it was good! :) Hope I can talk even better tomorrow morning! Heh.

Had audition in the afternoon. Well, due to bad past experiences, my confidence level really dropped. But I know I did my best and being a performer for some time, I know I didn't make any severe mistakes. So I'll just leave it to God to decide if I should be in or out.

Anyway, who cares about all these when you have good friends around you? Presenting Zariah!!! Heehe! My sister! Notice that our names sound alike ;) AND WE WORE THE SAME COLOUR!!! :D Looking pretty with make-up. Heee, cos I usually see her without them.

Alright it's gonna be another week in SJH. OH MY! I'm halfway through! Awww man, I'm gonna miss all my beloved ah gong and ah ma.... Can't wait to give all of them a big hug during my last day :( Meanwhile, I still have 2 weeks to enjoy my moments with them! YAY!

For PRCP, I got into a gynae oncology ward!!! Spot on!!! Well, when I had my gynae posting at KKH a year back, I was in gynae general and during the orientation, they told us that next door is a gynae onco ward. So, I kinda had this lil thought, "IF ONLY I could be in that ward." AND YES I'M IN! Wow! That's so amazing!! One very important reason why I would love an onco ward at least is because I get to nurse old people! :)

And I hoped earnestly that I would not get into peads as I have some nurse-parent issues. Gosh. Gynae oncology. I will do a good job there and I hope the sister there will like me and will be asked to continue to work there the next 2 years! Provided that I like the place also! :)

I Love Auditions!

Oh lala~~ I just love auditions! Heheehe. I like the preperation part, and finally knowing the results, good or bad. Okok, I hope I'll do really well this Wednesday and get through! :D One thing I have learnt. I MUST not think too highly of myself. Okay okay.

Time flies! I still remember last year being so active in NYP Broadway rehearsals. Staying back in school till the wee hours of the night. And right now I'm ALREADY having my very last attachment before the big PRCP!!

I don't know but I simply fell in love with everything at St Joseph's! Ok, it's only my first day so I will not be quick to comment. Heh.

Wanted to share how late I realise the year is coming to an end!!! Like 2 more months and it'll be the new year. It will be the year I turn 21(gosh!) and I start working. Oh man oh man!! Of course I did some new year resolutions for this year and achieved some!! :D Like.....

10th Time :)

Yay! I donated my blood for the 10th time yesterday! :D

I was like praying super hard for my iron levels as I was rejected like 3 times and the result turned out to be good! 13.3! LOL.

I had to suffer the post-effects of donating blood though. Didn't eat, didn't rest enough. So I felt really giddy and all. Thankfully, I know my body and did the appropriate thing. If not I guess I would have fainted! Have yet to experience the feeling of fainting though. HHAHAHAHA. Choy choy!

Still I'm happy! Feel proud of myself cos people were shocked that I went myself, feeling excited about it always.

Woo! My first day of Geron posting tomorrow. I'M SO READY FOR IT!!! (except the waking up part)

Had the chance to perform in a cafe. Ok, I am NEVER gonna play the guitar for a long period already! My fingers hurt to the max :( Shall look for a friend to help me play the guitar next time! Wahahaha. The awesome Syuhada. I seriously can't perform without her!

Jacob was awesome as well with the cajon!! Battlefield was the best!!! :D

I won't say that I was really good. I ought to be slapped actually because I played so many wrong chords =X Urgh, if only I could make it up. Hope the laymen didn't find it awful. My singing wasn't good with those impromptu songs!!!! So yeah. I'm ashamed. But nevermind! I will try to change my looks so no one will remember me.

Till then, I shall concentrate on nursing. I think that will cheer me up for the next few months.

Tiring Weekend

Drove my Dad to work this morning with my whole family in the car and it was awesome!!! Finally, I can repay my parents by driving them to places they wanna go! Hehe. Pssst! Malcolm commented that I drove better than Mommy. Muahahaha. Ok, let's not get too over confident. I must always drive safely!! :D
