I've been pretty busy with I don't know what. Hahaha! But finally I'm at home after a borderline crazy day in the ward. Not forgetting the emotionally unstable patients I have been facing the past few days. They all just cry out of a sudden! I wish I could say stuff to make them happy but everyone knows that that's not possible. In order to stop crying, she herself just needs to STOP.
Anyway I went back to NYP last Thursday! Wheehee! :) Popped by to take a look at Club Crawl which was super duper awesome. "Everyday I'm shuffling" was the catch-tune. Glad to see the Sc peeps plus the juniors! I mean, they are no longer juniors! Hehe. Going back again tomorrow to take a look at the auditions. It'll be fun, I know it :D Btw, photos of the awesome singers of Sc!
Was enjoying the dance performances with Syu! But the music was too loud that I used earphones to protect my ear.
Love these 2 people!!! :D
On Saturday I tried to donate blood but I failed once again. Sigh. Actually getting kinda sick of making wasted trips there :/ But the Dr still encouraged me to go donate often -__- But anyway I was notified that I donated blood 10 times already! So I got this medal thing. At least an achievement in my life! Hahaha.
After that, I went for service!!! It was rather meaningful as we had almost the real Holy Communion doing it the way it was meant to be! It wasn't a big thing, but it was just something so simple to remind us how Jesus died on the cross for us. Yupyup... And I love these people! :D
On Easter Sunday, the church had this community outreach to the Singapore Flyer. It was good. Nice to see the smiles on their faces but I just thought they were not really qualified as they were quite well to do. Haha. Just saying... Anyway it just makes me miss my grandparents. I never ever had the chance to bring them out...
After that, I met my Poly friends as most of them were going to start work the next day! :D
Love them to bits!!! Woohoo! We're all starting work and all already! Really miss them so much! Hehee.
And lastly, supported Norashikin Imran in Anugrah 2011! Woohoo! And I'm glad she's through to the next round. More chance to proclaim that she's my friend. HAHAHAHA. A cute pose to sms/dial her number!!! :)
So yeah, I can show off that I did share the same stage with her.
I shall end abruptly here, bye!

Teamwork
Teamwork is....
Not going for break but helping your colleague out when she is super busy.
Consistently asking your colleagues if there's anything you can do
Serving the darn medications to the patients even if you are not in charge of that cubical
Appreciating your colleagues when they help you out
Giving your colleague the credit when she really deserves it
Today wasn't a good day. Call bells came in non-stop and the patients really needed assistance in their ADLs. Even a frequent patient complained to my colleague that I was 'dao' as compared to when I was a student nurse. But it's not that I didn't wanna talk to her! :( I was really so busy.
Even too busy that 2 staffs broke down during the end of the shift. I feel them totally. One taking 14 patients and the other overseeing 18 patients as a new staff was taking 6 patients. And you know what? I just felt so useless. I hope I had the knowledge and skills to help them do the job.
Injured my back(bending too much) and had this really bad headache(which was relieved by panadol) after the whole shift.
As I've said a few months back during my PRCP, I want to be super duper efficient and good by June! 1 month and 1 week to improve myself!
I really hope I can be the one to help, and not to give more trouble to my colleagues.

Happy!!
On Friday night, went over to the NEW Life United Church venue for life group meeting! Pretty excited about the things that are gonna happen next month! ^^ And it's amazing to see what are the things we are able to do we thought we could not do!! Presenting my awesome life group which has yet to have a name. Hehehe.
Then just this morning, a few of us woke up early in the morning to make it for the lifestyle run!!! I did have fun! Though I hated the run (lol it rhymes!). Me and Edward were like lagging behind. Hehehe. But ok lah, he's the first person who was patient with me. Cos usually when I run with people, they will just go ahead cos I seriously run too slow!
The netball game was fun! Didn't play competitive sport for such a long time! And I didn't get to shout so much too! Hahahaha. Well at least I know I am slightly fitter than yesterday. LOL!
After that I took a cab home and changed to watch what I always wanted to watch :D
Argh, watching local productions makes me aspire to be like the people in the cast!!! I thought the musical was quite good. With very Singaporean jokes, the usuals that I love watching, the beautiful costumes and the awesome cherography! I am proud to say that my good friend's brother is the cherographer!! I still remember months back, when I got an email to audition for this! But I didn't go lah. Haha. I guess I would have failed because the ensemble cast are just so good in dancing!!! Makes me wanna take up dancing somehow. Hmmm, hope I'll have dancing experiences this year in Oct/Nov ;)
My favourite actress would be the younger sister of 881. Joanna Dong is such a natural! Or maybe I like her character. The moment she was in the scene I could tell what kind of character she was playing. Urgh, she's just so good! I wanna learn from her! I realise when I act, my actions are too swift and unnatural! Hope I will have the oppurtunity to practice and improve myself.(which means more oppurtunities in performing!) Hehehe. Oh, I googled about her and saw some jazz performances (singing) she did! Nice!! And of course Sebastian Tan is one of my regular favourite. A pure comedian. Too bad he was one of the gods so his singing did not charm me at all. Hahaha.
Argh, after watching this, I am so so crazy about musical theatre!!! Hope that I'll have the chance to perform soon! ^^V

Life Still Goes On
15 April 2011 will be one of the days I will remember.
RIP my dear. I will miss coming up to your bedside and asking you the usual questions.
The one thing I regret is that I didn't have the chance to pray together with you and tell you that God loves you very much.
At least you're enjoying everything that's in heaven right now :)
You have made me love my patients (oncology ones) more. I will continue to help them out with compassion.
Love,
Maria

Working life is starting to get stagnant
Working office hours the past few weeks has been driving me crazy! All I could think of after work is to have a good sleep and prepare for the following day's work. Thankfully nursing is a shift job! It gets exciting to me at least!! I can reach home early, sleep & wake up late at time and countdown to my night shifts and celebrate when night shifts are over! I hope I won't regret saying this... Heh.
On Sunday, went to Qian Hu Fish Farm for the fish spa! Initially it was a farm outing but we end up visiting one farm(qian hu) cos of the crazy jam clogged up at Lim Chu Kang area due to the Qing Ming season. At least I got my butt out in the sun!! :)
You can probably identify the individuals who could not stand the fishes' nibbling.
Celebrated Ker Yuan's Birthday as well! She just turned 18 ONLY! I wish I could become 18 again and go through everything I've been through once again :) Happy Birthday! If you see this.... Argh, didn't managed to take a photo with my BFF's sister :/
Another exciting thing is this!!!!!!!!
Beautiful desktop isn't it? :D Mind you, NONE of the things were new. All scrapes from my store room or living room. Except for the hardware, which is performing really fast on Windows 7. In the past I was dying to have a lappy and now I'm so happy to have this desktop! Gotta maintain it though. Gonna collect a lot of dust in no time!
Ok time to have a good rest! Working a full AM shift tomorrow! Hope they will still make me a floater! Heeee!

Back @ 43!
Yesterday afternoon I worked for half-shift in 43 with my SN uniform for the first time! Happy to see smiles on people's faces when they saw me. Just that they commented that I grew fatter. Sigh :( From that moment, I knew I had to start on a diet plan. Diet plan in progress btw! :) I can do it! I can do it!
Hmm, I'm still trying to adapt and pick up some of the things because I have not been touching all these for a whole month! A whole month of not thinking anything related to nursing. I could see that my hand movements were a little slower. Need more practice to get used to it! Heeee!!
It was great seeing some of the previous patients. I'm not cursing them alright! It's just that they come once in awhile usually for their chemo! Of course they were happy to see me as much as I was happy to see them!! Nursing your "usual" customers just makes things so much easier! But once their regime is finished, maybe I won't get to see them anymore :(
So basically I wasn't assigned to do anything but walk around and help out. Now looking at my SN colleagues, I feel so stressed! :/ Because they look terribly stress and I don't understand 20-30% of what they are doing. HOW?!?!?! I hope they'll give me time to learn more and not bombard me with difficult cases. Nah, I don't think they will be so mean. Besides, I can always feedback :)
My carelessness just sabo-ed me yesterday. Was supposed to write a certain result on 2 different places. And I happen to write them differently. After I knocked of yesterday, the in-charged called and asked me which was the correct result. OMG I felt so bad. But thankfully she is so nice! She even apologised because she called me during off-duty. Ok, that made me feel even more bad! Hahaha. But yeah, she's so nice and competent. Hope I can be like her one day! :D
One thing I learned about myself these 2 days. I LOVE WOMEN ABOVE 65 YEARS OLD! No joke, I'm naturally attracted to them! Can't wait to see them tomorrow! Heeheeehee.

I have 4 more weekends to enjoy
Just saw my orientation timetable, and by week 6 we gotta start our shift work already! Tomorrow will be week 2 already :( Hopefully my very nice sister can give me day off during the weekends I really need them :D Anyway, these few girls just came back from Bangkok! SO JEALOUS! I like this photo cos it's specky! Yes, they read my blog, that's why I'm posting this...
The week will be another series of lectures and Wednesday I will be going up to the ward! Can't wait actually! I mean for usual staff there's orientation to the surroundings and all. I wonder would sister or some other staff show me or will they just ask me to be floater? But anyway it'll be good to see my colleagues! :D
On Friday I managed to meet up some of my secondary school friends. Esp the ones who I didn't get to see after graduating from BBSS! It was a good catch up time :) Thanks Huey for organising!
An epic photo! Only the 3 of us know why... Some people just don't change :)
After another awesome Life United service, my life group went to watch Sucker Punch!
All I can say that the movie is a mix of Inception, Shutter Island, Street Fighter and Alice in Wonderland!! Worth it lah. The girls are quite hot! GIRLS RULE! :D
Weekdays and here again :( Sianzzzzz. Hehe, yet to collect my pressie from blood bank and to donate blood. Ok, I must keep that in mind...
