Strained

My voice is a little strained right now :/ Was supposed to protect it with all my heart as ordered by my vocal teacher. She told me to refrain from singing pop songs. But this weekend, I have 2 separate performances that requires me to use my real voice. I deserve a scolding. Hehehe.

Finally, I have reached the last lap of this race. It has been REALLY crazy. Practically not enough sleep, no leisure time to sleep in more and all since Thursday! But YAY!! One more night shift to chiong before the weekends!! Can't wait for both performances/events! :D

Was back from a singing practice!!! SO FUN and these people are simply awesome! Hehe.

After the coming weekend, I hope I'll have time to just settle myself down. Just in time to be excited for bonus. Huat ah!!!

HOW?!

I'm gonna be so busy the next few days!! I'm scared actually. I hope God can give me the supernatural strength to fight this war!! Hiak hiak!! On the 26th I have my beloved church's first anniversary celebration. Then on the 27th I have an opening event of a dinner to perform and on June 15th I have Sc Production!! On top of all these I have to fight a battle in my super duper busy full house ward and attend all the rehearsals that I am able to!

IF ONLY I do not need to work. Heehee. Seriously, I can't stand it when people MC here MC there. It's like for those who report for work have to struggle so so much. Just the day before, I only left the ward at 11pm just to look through my paperwork and make sure I didn't miss out anything. Can you believe it? Means during the working hours I had been non-stop doing all the practical stuff. Just yesterday my sister called me at 6.30am to ask me to work as I was having my off day. I declined because of my singing lesson. Oh well, see how terrible our manpower is? Really, I'm so scared to come to work these few days....

Alright I shall stop complaining! At least I had my fair share of PH and off days this week.

On Monday, I went to meet my cousin from Malaysia! She has a 4 month old baby! Which makes me an aunt!!! Her grumpy face so cute hehe.

It's nice to see that we've all grown up! I still remember when I was 6-7 years old, she was just a teenager wearing T-shirt and shorts and now, she's a mother!

Then I had a super last minute meeting with Marcus and I went to his place to see his animals!! They are really therapeutic! It's nice going home and playing with them after a stressful day at work. The dogs Mimi and Bibi are soooooo tiny!!!! And huggable! Not too jumpy, and seeks for attention and affection!

And who says cats aren't adorable as well?! Meow meow is the tamest cat ever!! I can do anything to him. Hehehe.

Yesterday I had my singing lesson again... Worked on the song she picked for me. After singing the whole song with lyrics for the day, my teacher got so excited about it. Saying that my tone suits the song I sound nice blah blah. But still, I think she sings WAY better!! Urgh! I need to work on it!! I wanna sound good! I need more discipline! It's really hard to be alone at home practicing. I need someone to push me and all. And that someone will be MYSELF! I want to be awesome! :D

And and, went back to NYP for Sc production practice! Had a little celebration for out dearest Rene! Hehe.

It's true I had never had such a good laugh in a long while :) Looking forward to hanging out with them more!!!

PS: My bangs are horrible!!! Please grow a little longer... Heee.

Studio Recording!!

It isn't my first time doing a studio recording but this time round seemed more commercial and perfect. Haha. The previous and first one I did was with the ACC band recording the song I wrote, "If Only". Man, those were the good old times :) I need to write more more more songs!! Well, I just wrote one, but it's still gonna be private...

The recording is for some award ceremony thingy which I had been asked for only on Tuesday night! Amazing ain't it! Haha. Despite having singing lessons, I just feel so "dry". So yeah, I'm thankful for this event! I need stuff to keep me going lah~ And I PRAY that there will be more, especially during National Day. Hehehe!

Anyways, the address of the recording studio was given and I thought it was some shop. BUT, it was someone's home! I have ALWAYS wanted a recording studio at home and now, I know that it is possible to do it!! The place was so beautiful! I just hope that whoever I will be with in the future is interested in sound recording and will be willing to build this dream with me :) With that, I can do recording all day long! Awesome lah!~

Now I do know more about recording... It's really tedious especially to the "controller". And we had to sing like a million times. It was also pretty hard for me cos I could not hear myself :/ I don't think my notes were perfect but oh well, at least I'm somewhat covered up. Hehee! I wonder how will the final track be like! With the harmonies and the editing! Exposure! I want more exposure!

I hope I won't suffer and perish saying this... Ok, I went stalking this vocal teacher... With all due respect, she's a really good singer, with a fuzzy voice and all. Knows lots on articulation. But... Argh! I can't say it out! Nevermind. Maybe I'm just really sensitive on my ears and very theory-based. Which means I'm meant for classical singing! Muahahaha! Well, at least I hope that I can be like her, so exposed to so many things!

Going Overseas

My colleague is going to Melb alone for a week. I guess she's just taking a break from whatever is happening to her life now. Sometimes, being alone is good. It sets you thinking, makes your mind sort out what's happening and all. My heart goes all out to her, sincerely.

Well, it made me recall my lonely times both in Austria and Edinburgh back in 2008. I didn't exactly plan this lonely trip but it just so happened that I was in a midst of a very difficult time(but it's nothing compared to my colleague) when my brother just sent me off just like that. I'm not blaming my brother but the both trips were really good! What I remember most was those moments in the train, where I would listen to music, read the Bible and pen my thoughts down. At the same time, looking at the beautiful scenery of greens and snow. In a way, it made me stronger...

Actually right now, I have the urge to travel alone. Maybe if I do, I'll go to the US! But erm, there isn't any distinct triggering factor yet. Maybe it will come soon? But of course, I wish that it won't happen. Hate myself sometimes... Urgh! If only things could be that simple.

Every time when I go through this, I tell myself that God knows. And to Him, somehow I'm this silly girl not knowing the greater things that are going to happen :)

Running and singing

Just came back from another week of Life On Track! Next week will be the actual thing, which I won't be running in. Hehehe. But hey, you got to give me credit that I did come for the past 2 runs. Well, I was kinda motivated :D

Okay, I didn't exactly run the whole track. I just jog-walked fast enough to make my heart and lungs work. Then, I trained on my breathing! And started doing lip thrills and hummed along. It's like I'm so determined to condition my muscles!

So, on the day of my singing lessons every alternate Thursday, I shall make myself jog around the neighbourhood! And then during my lessons, tadah! I can sing out for so long without losing breath!!! Yay me!

Sheryne!! The ultimate sports person!! It'll be so so great if our expedition can happen! So fun!

Alright! I got to sleep now! I hope tonight's night shift will be good!!

My first singing lesson and other stuff!

Today(or rather yesterday), I had my very first singing lesson! It was awesome! I enjoyed every single minute of it!! Learnt a lot and was also reminded of things I had learnt previously. Hee. Now, singing with support is really no joke! It's pretty confusing in fact when I get my body to react appropriately. I'm gonna train train train my muscles and brain at least twice a week!!

I hope this year-long journey will bring me to another level! We went through a bit of the exam syllabus, and I kinda freaked out! My sight-seeing/singing is horrible! Gonna start from the basics! My vocal instructor told me that I'll be fine, and I can do it. I hope I can. Although, I was pretty nervous at that time and sang quite off. I hope she's know I'm not that lousy! She told me that a good singer can listen and know their mistakes. I guess I can, in terms of pitching at least.

I can't wait for the next lesson already!!! :D I hope this passion will stay on and not fade away. I really want to be super disciplined, focused and serious about it!

Btw, I added a mirror in my room!! I LOVE IT!

The mirror isn't really clear though. I bought it for 9 bucks from Ikea. What to expect? Hmmm, will see how when I clean it up!
