Looking back, I think I did quite well for this holiday! And come to think of it, I managed to survive in the rather dangerous Rome :) Alright, this entry shall be full of photos! Extracting 1 photo from each city(almost) I have been to :)
First stop, Heidelberg. Over looking the Old Town(Altstadt) from the Heidelberg castle!! It was drizzling so we had the hassle of carrying the umbrella everywhere we went and my shoes were mushy. Eeeeewwww :( Nevertheless, it was good going back to this beautiful town. Met Tze Heng, Malcolm's friend who kindly brought us around too! (And had us drinking wheat beer 10am in the morning xD)
Berlin was one of the place I had always wanted to visit since I did not have the chance the past 2 times I went to Germany. And finally, I got to see the amazing historical sights! :) Presenting the Brandenburger tor! Was just a little fearful of those gypsies. My brother had fun mocking at them though. I wonder what has he been doing the past 8 years in Germany.....
Off we went on our own while Malcolm had to work for the week... I had also always wanted to visit this beautiful town named Dresden. Malcolm had been sending me a few postcards of Dresden and I always love the pictures of the place and finally, yay I could see the beautiful baroque buildings with my own eyes :DD That's me posing in front of the oprea house in my newly purchased motobike jacket from C&A in Berlin. Hehehe.
Prague was the next destination. And I shall formally introduce my travel partner, Victoria!! Copying Paris' Eiffel Tower, Prague decided to have her own lookout tower and the view of the whole city from up there was amazing! It was definitely worth the climb!!
After Prague was Munich!! Back to Germany! Visited the B&W museum and Marienplatz before heading to Englisher Garten, where I had THE best experience of my life! It was some outdoor place with a live band playing German folksongs. I just love the German experience. How we had to purchase the food(very marche style, if you know what I mean), the way people queue and buy for beer, the schweinshaxe(aka my pork knuckle) and they way we were seated!(very German festive style!) The weather was fantastic too!! Hehe, I'm such a good girl. I didn't want to have beer :|
Also finally, I got to see Neuschwanstein castle with my very own eyes!!! I must say that getting there was pretty challenging BUT I MADE IT :D (With the help of DB timetable & my DB navigator, Malcolm Boey)
Met Malcolm again for the farmstay part of the holiday! One of my favourite activities during the farmstay- BBQ in the carpark! I just love how resourceful we were(mostly Malcolm) in getting the food and fire!! Blur photo sadly :(
I also got to experience Oktoberfest!! Little did I know that the original original Oktoberfest is in Munich. Technically, no where else in Germany celebrates Oktoberfest. Had fun roaming around in my Dirndl :) Look at my cute German boyfriend behind me xD The train station was CRAZILY CROWDED!!!
On a Sunday, we went up to Wendelstein mountain by an old mountain tram! Malcolm booked a table for us in an All-You-Can-Eat brunch eatery. We could eat, and then explore the mountain top and go back and eat again. Hehehe.. It was too sunny that's why my eyes were like that.
Last night in farmstay. We cooked our own dinner. Love it!
Out of Germany we went, and ended up in Salzburg! Experienced the Sound Of Music Tour once again!!! Us in front of the very famous glass house!
Had my usual sleeping train ride. Wanted Victoria to experience it. Hehehe.. But the ride was pretty bad because it was so freaking cold :( My feet were shivering like crazy! But we were lucky because we had the whole cabin to ourselves! Didn't have to sleep with others! Wahahahaha!
And we reached our destination, Venice!!! OH I LOVE THE PLACE! The hotel was amazing(thanks Malcolm!) and the whole area was like a maze!! Everything looked alike! And I'm pretty proud of my navigation skills! Hehehe... Enjoyed admiring and studying the transportation system. NO CARS exists in Venice!!! We avoided the Gondola boat ride and saved 80euros. Phew!
The highlight of Florence was Prada shopping wahahahha. We just randomly walked around. I was too tired to take nice photos already :(
Last stop- Roma!! We had to of course visit the famous Colosseo!!! It was fun using my imagination to picture the fights thousands of years back! Witnessed a pickpocketing act in the train too!!
Ok, in general I think my photos look quite nice after editing. Wahahaha...
After this holiday, I was REALLY tired. My next holiday is going to be a relaxing one! Enough of intensive sight-seeing! Ok, I have 2 upcoming short leisure holidays. Wheeeheee.
