Issac wanted a part in the senior muscial, but he believed the teachers always gave the best parts to the class stars. "I'll never get anything," he told Yolanda one afternoon.
Yolanda said, "Hey, look, why don't you tell yourself you can do it anyway? 'I think I can, I think I can.' Tell yourself that, and maybe it'll happen."
Issac decided to try it. As he tried out for a part, he sang his heart out and told himself, "I can and I will," all through it.
I CAN AND I WILL.

What Can I do??
"When you lead as a friend, you watch out for your friends. When they're vulnerable, you take steps you need to help and, if necessary, save them from disater."
John C. Maxwell
How am I ever gonna do it?!
I look to you, Yaweh...
Great Company
For this holiday(even in the midst of attachment), I have been spending a lot of time with THEM!! And I really love it! Heehee. But due to the stupid attachment and holiday, I missed out a lot :/ Anyway, I should count my blessings right?
So, yesterday after work, I went to Carlos to celebrate Barry's birthday!!! I love hanging out there because of the huge HD television and the ample space to just laze around. Not forgetting his nice and hospitable parents! Tolerating our noise late a night(oops), feeding us and just being friendly! :) Usually, we will hang out until about 4am when Carlos will drive us back home(thanks dude!). However this time round, we planned to stay all the way! IT WAS FUN! Watching movies, looking at old photos and sleeping. Yes, this time round we slept. All 9 of us managed to squeeze into Carlos' bedroom. I left his house at about 12.30pm for church.
The "hangover". Hahaha. But no worries, no alcohol was involved... It would be better with a bit of it though :P Next time!!!
The only photo I managed to capture with the birthday boy... Barry!!!!!!!
We've know each other for 6 years, seen each other grow up. I'm really glad to have such a company :) Can't wait for MORE!!!!! As for now, I'm like this...
Good night everyone!

Though I feel like this, I don't get emotional over it. There is more to life than these stupid things!
Yay me for only sleeping for 1hr30mins before an 8 hour shift! How cool is that?!?! And I wasn't even that tired while working. Yes, I have started my 4 weeks attachment and I just completed 2/19 of it! Woohoo! Right now, I really dislike attachments. I mean, compared with being a student nurse or a staff nurse in a ward, I would want to be a staff nurse(and being "old" in the ward), though there are many cons like a huge responsibility, no time to eat, no life blah blah blah.
Side note: I feel that I am more bold to communicate with my patients this time round :)
Back to the topic: Reason? I hate people who talk down to me! Dang it! I was in your ward for just 2 days. And it is not as if I don't wanna abide to your rules and all that. If only I could switch roles ya. Let's see how YOU would feel. Jeez! Ok, probably I would need another 10 years to end this phase of my life(because a newly trained nurse will also experience such thing). Of course, I will try really hard not to be mean and make people feel so low.
And I bet only Singapore adopts this kind of stupid snobbish attitude. I realise that I am mean sometimes(of cos i dont outrightly talk people down). Is it because I encounter such people in the first place?
Results were out today. A sigh of relief for me. I am just gonna send my current semester results to KKH and that dosen't include the GPA. Generally Bs. I don't think that they will make a fuss out of that. Haha. GPA remained the same(or deproved by the lil decimals). I got 2.8 by the way. Well at least it is a slight improvement from the previous semester and I didn't fail any module(WOO! Thank God!)!!! At the end of the day....
I NEED TO BUCK UP.

and... I'm back!! :)
Just wanna quote something...
"You may lead a highly successful and envious life, but lasting joy exists because your loved ones are with you"
Total awwwwwww. Anyway, the trip has been great! More than just the touring around, looking at how the systems works there, learning how to cook and do housework, etc etc, quality time was the best spent there :)
I can't wait to live with you for a year (if that is really possible)!!! In the past, I thought that I could only get good company with the people older than me, so that I could look up to them and all that. But now, peers are like one of the best things God can ever create.
All the best for your assignments! Don't surf facebook and read blogs so often! Heehee.
Things to note for this trip: There is more to life than sleeping. Never take night flights.

It's all about nature and Chicago!
We booked a tour and went up Mt Dandenong... The first stop we had morning tea with the company of parrots. I was amazed because they actually perched on my arm and even head!
Next, we went up Puffing Billy, a steam train. It was really cool and vintage man!!! Loved that experience. I think too much influence from Malcolm of loving trains and all that :)After the tour ended, we met JingWei, had lunch and went to the botanical gardens! I loved the place. Hee, took many great shots too. Heehee.
The night was spent watching Chicago! I must say that it was a great showwwww! Ok lah, though it was kinda expensive, but I guess it was all worth it!!!

My Biggest Purchase In Melbourne
Someone, just kill me!! But I told myself if I didn't get this, I would regret for life. Oh well... I hope they don't sell it in Singapore. Heh...
I always feel sleepy and hungry. I don't know why.

Great Ocean Road, Twelth Apostles, Loch Arc George
Basically just some really spectacular views :) I have never seen a real cliff before. Heh. The tour was expected, took most of the time driving. But well, it was great! Anyway Malcolm also paid hundred plus that time he went. So I don't feel so cheated after all! Heh.
Presenting, the Twelth Apostles behind me!!! Well, some were gone after time. Like erosion... Yeah, that kind of thing.
BR and I having some fun with the self-timer shots...
I must say I would be more in deep thoughts if I were to go for this tour alone. Anyway, I also think it's a great way to spend time with your loved ones(as in bf/gf/husband/wife)... Or if you're really heart broken and would wanna have time of your own. Heh.
We had KFC for dinner near Jing's place. Wow! Yummy! But jeez, I'm growing fatter! Ok, I better execute my diet plan when attachment starts...
Feeling the cold air seeping through the balcony door :/ Ok, I have no idea why I have no tolerance toward the cold for this trip! Also no tolerance for walking distances. Aiyah! Okok, I am thinking about my future. I know that KKH has a staff gym, maybe I should go there everyday after work! Wahaahahhaa! But that will be in 2 years.
Well, I have been thinking, and I havent seen Jing laughing so hard... I believe she would not be able to do so with the newly made friends here. But hearing her genuine laughter makes me feel happy!! Really hope that our arrival makes you happy, but not troublesome yeah. Hehe :P
SHOPPING TOMORROW. I can't wait to paint the town red on Friday!!!

The Day Seemed Longer Today...
Because we woke up at 7am!! Wahahahaha! Yeah, basically we spent the morning shopping though. Brought BR to JayJay's and he loved it as well! Well, but not as much as me :P Anyway, the beautiful park that belongs to the campus of Monash Clayton campus!!
After shopping, we met Jing in town and bought MacDonalds for lunch. I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese and it was soooooo good! Ahh! I think I would have died if I have 1 month of fastfood fast in Australia.
I think the past few days have been great... Holding hand in hand with JingWei, talking about Singapore stuff over the nights and laughing about Malcolm. I have to admit and I am not really a fan of Australia, but the company of JingWei has made this holiday a memorable one for me...
She is now frying lamb chop for dinner. Feel so loved (sounds wrong). While myself and Carlos are desperately using the internet. Gosh, we are so bad!!
5 more days!!!

Lazing on the grass in the park :) That's my kin of life. I am loving parks. Maybe I should start appreciating one near my place. Hehe.
The Shrine(monument) for the soldiers of World War 1. Ok, Abit disrespectful to do this. But I didnt know it was one until I entered the building!!!!
Us with glasses :D Awwwww!I think the past few days have been great... Holding hand in hand with JingWei, talking about Singapore stuff over the nights and laughing about Malcolm. Ok, seriously I gave up on converting and comparing with Singapore's pricing and all... I mean, one can of soft drink costs about S$3!! JingWei already gave up on calculating after 2 months of staying here. Haha.
Anyway, I do have to admit that we've been wasting a lot of time here! Like waking up 11am and using the internet. Reminded me that I stayed in the hotel room in Greece watching "Just Follow Law" on Youtube. Boy, my brother was REALLY mad at me at that time. But I think it's different lah. The main point of this trip is just to visit my dear friend, Jing :) Awwww, hehehe.
Very interesting, we've been eating like Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian and fastfood in Melbourne! Ok, not that we refused to eat any local food, but those are their local food! So, for those who are from the jungle, and eats duck above flame daily, please come to Melbourne! You can find any food here! (hmmm, except dog meat?) For sure, I am going to gain weight!!!
I also complained about a lot of things. About being sleepy, the cold and many more! I wonder what on Earth is wrong with me . Sigh...
Today was spent having a campus tour, which is totally cool to see the everyday thingys she does. Oh, and the lil park at Clayton campus (south of Caufield) is totally cool! I really love English parks! And yay! Tomorrow we are going to da bao MacDonalds and sit in the park for lunch. Probably we'll lie there and start talking about everything under the sun :)
For dinner, we met up with Debbie and John. Managed to catch up with her :) I think she was happy to see visitors from Singapore. Well, if I were a student here, I would love to play host to any friend! :)
I can't wait to study overseas as well. I'm it'll be something that I won't regret doing.

Shopping!
The day was shorter as all of us overslept!! For me, the moment I closed my eyes, I had some images of funny things and next thing I was was JingWei telling me, "Maria, wake up! It's 11.30am already". Basically the day was spent shopping! Hee. Yummy fish and chips for lunch!!
After that, went to St Kilda's market which opens every Sunday! Quite cute and pretty things there!
Now we're at her place, chit-chatting a lot about anything under the sun(or under the moon). I like! Hehe. Well, it would be more fun if more people were to be here. Hehe :D 7 more days of fun!!! Yay!

Then, we bought ice cream and went to the beach!! It was COOOOOLDDDD!
The place I spent the most money. But trust me. BR spent more than me!!! Wahahaha. Power lah he.
After dinner, we went for grocery shopping! Saw many nice nice things! Heh. And this self-service purchase counter. ULTIMATE COOLNESSS! The funny thing was that we purchased too many items, causing the machine to "jam". Wahahaha. She conluded that we only use this machine when purchasing a few items and not for your weekly grocery shopping. Now we're at her place, chit-chatting a lot about anything under the sun(or under the moon). Greetings from Melbourne!!
Hello!!! Firstly, I wanna say that I am very happy to see JingWei!! BingRong and I were waiting for her at the Melbourne Airport for about 20 minutes, until she hugged my tightly from behind! Awwww, hehehe! :D
Her friend, Ringo was so nice to drive us to her place! After putting our luggage and surfing some internet(as always, hehe) she brought us to explore the town!!
A view of the Victoria Library with an open land for people to hang out :)
Advertisments of Chicago!!!! We bought the tickets at $XXX. I must say that this may be the most outrageous thing I have ever done!!

I am so jealous can? Haha. Her place is like a 5 minute walk, from her doorstep to her classroom! Unlike me, 1 hour -_- Plus I need to spend money daily. Anyway, Melbourne is a beautiful town!!! A mixture of white australians, greeks, asians(chinese looking), middle eastern, indians and many more! Sometimes I forgot which country I was at... Hahaha. I lovely photo of a "winter-going-spring" tree. Can't find it in Singapore!! Haha.
Had an awesome lunch at Nandos. 3 of us shared a whole roasted chicken... Including this. It was GOODD!! The sauses were great!!!A view of the Victoria Library with an open land for people to hang out :)
Advertisments of Chicago!!!! We bought the tickets at $XXX. I must say that this may be the most outrageous thing I have ever done!!
Can you find this in Singapore?!?!?!! Heehee. BR in the background who just got his ice cream.
After that, we went to some park near the city... Ahhh. Parks are my favourite :) But I was really tired as I only had 3 hours of sleep in the train.
Water cooler that dispenses cloudy water! But it was safe to drink I think. We 3 are still alive!
After that we settled for a spot and slept for 30 minutes. It was the best nap ever! I knew I had a dream, but I forgot what was it :P
Lastly we went to Crown Hotel and saw pillars vomiting flames. JingWei told us not to sin as hell would be hotter than that. Hehehe.Had dinner at some Vietnamese place. Beef kway teow. Super good! She's really good in letting us try the food huh... Haha. Yup!!! I will definitely gain weight!!!
I am also glad to see Jing enjoying herself in Melbourne. Besides studying and rushing for assignments, the going out part is really not too bad. And of course, the wide selection of good food for he to choose. Haha... Ok, I shall sleep because I don't wanna be a zombie tomorrow! Ciao!

What do I really want?
I have already made a proper list of things I want to do before I die. It feels good! :D Hopefully I can start cancelling out some by the end of this year :)
I know I am still young to be in the "wondering stage" of life. I only need to wonder like on 2013. Haha, which is 4 years from now. But I was thinking and thinking, after Skyping with my brother. His plan is to work in Germany after graduation, and that will be like 10-12 years, because he needs to work long enough to pay back the house. Wow, I know that it is something he really wants. (good also, which means I can visit him and force him to bring me around europe, like a honeymoon xD)
I think what I want is really simple. I just want to study in Surrey University (i pray that i will have the intelect to enter) in London for 3 years, return to Singapore and continue to be a nurse. HAHA. What made me worry a lot is that my lecturers, who were previously nurses erm... are... still... single...
I learn a lot from the people around me... I really do. I would not want to go through the "bad stuff" they expirenced. I have to thank those who shared their life with me. Wow, indeed, growing up isn't easy.
Ok, it is not as if I am going to turn 21 soon or something but I kept thinking after the conversation with Malcolm on Skype.
For those who are reading, let me ask you a question. What you are doing now, is it what you really want in the future?

Commercials and Japanese(again)
Presenting the 2 favourite commercials currently!
Aren't they nice to watch? Hahaha. The marketing people have done well!!!
Went to eat good Singapore food again :/ Seriously I am going to gain weight this month! Hope I can lose everything during attachment. Hehe. Anyway I had to take a photo with the Japanese lecturer! She looks a little bit like Corrinne May! Not in this photo though. But in real life, she really looked like her! I was crazy over it! Hahaha.

I shall add a photo of Hong Pei Qing since she reads my blog the most often! :)
Miki, pq's partner. We're of the same age :) So I'm like comparing between a Japanese and a Singaporean. Hahahaha. Are those eye bags?
Time to dream! I love dreams! :)

A Family That Loves
I was a Monday evening, some had their work the following day, some were in the midst of their exams, some were tired out from their holidays(me.. hehe) but most of us still came down to give Henry a farewell before he goes to NS. This is what I call a family that loves :)
Caught the movie, "The Proposal" with them as well, excluding those who had to go home early. There were funny moments, and there were times that I "awwww"-ed. Ok, such movies are killing me. I seriously should stop watching them!
As long as you know what you want, I'll be happy for you :)

Sleepy from touring Singapore!
I am too lazy to post photos, so I will only post 2 :P
We met up the others and went to many places today. Namely Sentosa, Vivo City, Clarke Quay, Chinatown and finally the Singapore Flyer!! Thankfully I wore slippers and I also lent Tomoe another pair, if not she would be wearing her pink wedges for the whole day! @_@
Xiao Ping and I concluded that Pei Qing is the best tour guide ever, shouting at their ears(ok just kidding) on the different places in Singapore, explaining to them and stuff blah blah. I find it really funny because she must purposely add the "O"s or and "Zi"s or whatever, so that they could understand. But trust me, that will never work. Wahahaha. Ok, I'm such a meanie! I was watching the videos that I recorded and it captured me saying, "Shut up lah!" to Pei Qing. Opps! Sorry girl!
Oh yes, Miki(pq's partner), Tomomi(xp's partner) and Xiao Ping too the Extreme Swing thing at Clarke Quay!!! It was fun watching them! I must say that I am really timid! I was laughing at Xiao Ping though, cos she was shocked by the whole thing itself. The 2 Japanese girls were like "YAY!" whereas Xiao Ping walked out of the place with shaky legs and a very dull emotion.
This is my favourite shot of the day!!! :P
I must say that I am ashamed of Singapore. Hahaha. I'm serious. I remember when I was in Japan, everyone was so gentle and polite. And the toilets are really clean with the bidget thingy! In Singapore, hmph! Coffeeshop uncle being so rough, aunties shouting here and there blah blah blah. Don't even talk about the toilets! Ok, anyway I don't have any right to complain. But I think if everyone plays a part, we can change it! And for that to happen, Bukit Timah hill will have a layer of snow on top, just like Mt Fuji.
I really got a give a hand to Ms Chee, the lecturer in charge for assigning the right partner to us. PeiQing's partner REALLY resembles her. Likes to shop, buy many many things, wears tights and mini skirts and makes the most joyful(im making it sound pleasent here) noise. For Xiao Ping, her's is slightly mature and wears shorts. HAHA! For me, we're kinda of the same size, same frizzy hair, don't really like to buy things upon seeing it and buy the cheapest gift to bring back home(OOPS! I'm kidding! trying to make this post interesting and funny). So yeah, I'm gonna tell Ms Chee that.
I will have only 4 hours of sleep, so off I go!
Cheers to a busy week!

This is my favourite shot of the day!!! :P
Who else will think of such a photo to take? Haha. The Singapore Flyer ride reminded me of the London Eye ride I took last year. Ah, brings back good memories, where I met Mr Hadfidz. We're still in contact via MSN! I must say that the night view of Singapore is really nice but not perfect. The IR is yet to be completed. Maybe I'll take it again when all the construction is done! :) As you can see in the above photo, it shows that I was abit bored. Heehee. I'm a Singaporean mah... DUH!

I don't think anyone was more excited than me
I was really excited to give a big welcome to the Japanese students! :) Heehee. But I thought the welcoming was quite fast. LOL!
WELCOME TO SINGAPORE! We made this like 3 hours before their arrival.
Presenting my partner, Tomoe!! :) Student nurses from Singapore and Japan!
Ate like crazy for dinner. That was I could remembered @_@
Well, it has been AGES since I hosted any overseas friend. Oh, the communication part is killing me! Haha. I hope SiShi was around to translate though :P
Oh, there were 8 of us, hosting 8 Japanese students. To my surprise, 8 lecturers came down to drive us all back to our home! :) Well, I was really glad that with the lecturer that send me home. She happens to graduate from the both Universities I had been researching on. So, I had many of my doubts answered :) So cool lah! I hope I can approach her again to ask her more!!! But oops, I forgot her name :P
Ok, got to have an early night as I need to wake up at 8am! @_@

Happy Birthday Liang Wan Ting!
It's been a long time since we had a good girly meet up :) And oh yeah, presenting my "sisters-to-be"... Hehehe :P WanTing, I hope you like the pen and flowers yeah. Part 3 will come when I return from Melbourne xP
She is flying off in like 7 hours time to Taiwan!!! Will miss you SiShi! Ok lame, it's only going to be 4 days. I have been seeing her 4 consecutive days as well! Really miss those times we would sit beside each other EVERYDAY in school :)
I showed them the journal our English teacher expected us to submit weekly when we were sec 1. I didn't really read every page but they found some "secrets" and I didn't even remember feeling that way! Example, I didn't really like Violet and JiaHui because they snatched my SiShi away and created some clique named "Sky". And also secrets about WanTing being jealous and said I was boot licking a teacher @_@ It's so funny yet feeling silly to recall the times we had. As for now, we are ok and will stay as friends! :)Good news, my arm is fine. The X-ray did not show any signs of fracture :) Bad news, I wasted $27.40 just to allay my(actually my mother's) anxiety...
I'm really confused. I have to do something next week!

The holidays can't be any better!
Well, I have been looking through all the photos over and over again in my hard drive. It's making me so nostalgic! Wanna thank Daddy for getting me a digital camera at a fairly young age, so that I could capture every single memory :) Can you imagine, right now I take about an average of 2GB worth of photos and videos a month!
Today rocked because Carlos took me, SiShi, Sheng Jie and Barry for a drive to have 2 suppers @_@ First round was teow chew porriadge and second was roti prata.Yeah, you can say "siao" again. And my biological is kinda ruined.
Went to visit the Polyclinic because of my left elbow. Mom was nagging about it while I was sleeping. The doctor said it most probably it won't be a fracture but I am going to take an X-Ray later just to be sure everything's fine, due to my old injury.
I also FINALLY enrolled myself into a driving school!!!!!!!!! Thankfully SiShi signed up as well, if not I won't even be bringing my butt to the driving centre. Heehee, hope I can get a lisence at the quickest time possible. My Basic Theory Test is gonna be on the 25th of this month(which is quite fast), so all the best to me!
Gonna celebrate WanTing's birthday later! I hope it'll be a good one!

Enjoyable Holidays :)
Taken in 2007, January.
Taken 2009 on Teacher's Day, in a same typical classroom!
On teacher's day itself, we had a lil gathering! In the morning, I received this message...
And looked waht happened after an hour. Hahahaha.
Lil group shots!
We settled at Heeren for lunch and to meet up with JiaHui and YouPeng. Also, for the horrible rain to stop @_@
The unfortunate thing was that I fell twice, and they seemed to be serious! The first one I seriously thought I fractured my left hand again! I kept chanting that it won't be a fracture. You know this kind of trauma and being afraid that my arm had to be amputated or something(cos last time my monkey bar incident, i almost lost my left arm!). Thankfully I could still move my fingers and all that. Right now it's fine but my elbow feels a little funny! Well, shall wait for a few days to heal. The second fall was a scratch on my left elbow AGAIN! But thankfully, I am still able to type with my both arms :) Thank God!
Went to Botak Jones for dinner at Youth Park. Met Mr Mazlee and chatted a lil. After that, Matt came along from his afternoon shift and we went to Time Zone for another round of arcarde! The guys just can't get over it :/
This was written in my facebook profile:
Maria Baguita Boey gives a big hand to her dear Matthias for taking charge of a situation when someone collasped in the train... Ok, I did my part too, by communicating with the train driver :P Thankfully I wasn't in nursing uniform ;)
Haha yeah, someone collasped in the train and collasped again after recovering from the first one! I shall spare you the assumed diagnosis (some kind of seizure, not just any normal faint)Matt came with but WOW. I saw him being "serious" for the first time! Heehee. But it was quite cool when explaining the situation to the driver and upon reaching the next train station, the station staff were already were on standby. I was surprised, that the station staff knew about the news so quickly!
Gave him our personal drinks for him to drink, as he complained that he was dehydrated for 5 hours @_@ He's a tourist (American) btw -__- But I do have to mention that the trains are always so stuffy, which contributed to his collaspe. Oh and I found it interesting that he was drinking water in the MRT station in front of the staff, but he wasnt given any fine! I wanted to take a photo or something and put a caption saying, "Casualty drinks water in MRT station, but he wasn't fined" HAHA. So lame @_@ Please lah, at least allow people to drink plain water can. Who knows, the rate of people getting dehydrated and collasping in the train would increase.
Okay I have to admit. I am seriously a kay po. That's why I kinda like what I am doing! I get to help out in critical situations! Not that I want bad things to happen though.
Matt and I were thinking on how it would be like if he needed CPR. We would do a two-man CPR! xD And we would appear in the news paper the next day. I guess the title would be, "2 Student Nurses from NYP Revived A Life By Using The CPR Saving Skills They Had Recently Learnt" Ok, so lame. AS IF! If it really happen, I won't ever dare to joke about it. Haha.
Matt concluded that we needed to be more trained in critical situations like this and I could not agree with him more...
